Well it seems to be working, i rode to work today, and a hill that last week i had to walk the bike up coz it was too steep, i got over no problems today, so i must be getting fitteralso cracked 50kms/hr today

Food is a fuel. Eat less than what you expend and you are right. And don't start diets or exercise regiems that are unrealistic and that you are unable to maintain. Lifestyle is much better than a quick fix. Just substitute healthy options for the non healthy options you currently choose. Whether is just walking to the shops instead of driving etc etc.
