Thought I might post this recent purchase as it is a funny shape, lol, and have a rather important question regarding storage. Not my exact card, just grabbed a photo from ebay for illustrative purposes because I am too lazy to take a photo. For those that have never seen this set before it is a 97-98 Ultra Ultrabilities "superstar" parallel. And for the young ones on this board, what was that I hear you say, "there's no jersey patch". The horror. Back in the day we did not have jersey cards or mass produced autographs. We had what is called inserts :D lol. A more classier and elegant era in the hobby I say.

On a more serious note, could anyone help in best way to store it. Only had one other die-cut in my life. Was very young and placed it in a snap tight case. Thought I was doing good by protecting it but it rattled around a bit and the rounded die-cut top got squashed and chipped. Don't want it to happen this time round with this card as it is worth quite a bit. I'd like to keep those corners at the bottom nice and sharp

Now back to my hidy hole

Nice pickup mate!

Have you tried the Ultrapro 'rigid' sleeves for starters?? They are probably twice as thick as your usual penny sleeve. May work in conjunction with a toploader.

Penny sleeve inside of a 9 card ultra pro sheet in a folder, stored away out of incidental reach. If you can ding corners doing that, you need a different hobby :)

I have to agree, I would pay more for a numbered insert from the 90's compared to a new Patch or Booklet.

I would go with Nick's point of view and put them in a folder, they are guaranteed to stay safe.

Most collectors would agree. That's why these cards from the 90's are the very few that actually hold their value.

Bit of blue-tak and a one touch should do the trick.... Seriously I'd use a penny sleeve and a folder - not hard rigid edges to cause any chipping, rounding or whitening. Could always try getting it slabbed?!

Sick MJ mate, I love the furry lettering on these haha

As for storing I went with I believe either 20 or 35pt one touch, what ever is closest to the cards thickness which slightly crushes the furry lettering holding it in place ;)

the best way to store it would be send it to me,,,, i will keep it real safe for you haha sweet card mate
