Okay, many of the manufacturers have updated their release list. These are what I know about that match what I know people here collect:

Star Trek Remastered Original Series (Rittenhouse) - 26 Jan - a dual auto and 1 single auto per box.
Bench Warmer Ultimate Series 2 - Feb
Star Wars Galaxy 6 (Topps) - Feb - 1 sketch card per box. I am organising a group buy and further details will be placed in that thread when I get them.
Marvel Dangerous Divas (Rittenhouse) - 23 Mar - this is a follow up to the Women of Marvel set. 1 sketch per box. Multiple sketch puzzles about 1 in 60 boxes. I will organise a group buy for this, so further details will go in that thread.
Marvel Beginnings (Upper Deck) - 12 Apr - each box will have either a sketch OR an auto from a Marvel 'icon' OR a villains hogram. I am a bit ambivalent about these because Upper Deck did such a bad job with the Marvel Masterpieces. They are setting it up as a 3 set run because the base set is 180 cards from an eventual 540. It has a high insert ratio though with a motion or die cut card in each pack.
James Bond Mission Logs (Rittenhouse) - 27 Apr
Bench Warmer Gold Edition - May

There's also a bunch of specialist sets by the small manufacturers such as Monty Python Movies, War of the World and various themed sketch packs.

Re: Releases in 'early' 2011

Some great releases...first i've heard of the Marvel Begginings set. sounds good.but yes i agree Upper Deck screwed up Masterpieces. I remember when i bought a box of MM2 and it had no sketch :( i believe that happened to a fair few people.

Not to forget 'Thor' should be released around March i believe..hoping that set has a Natalie Portman auto in it...or even Anthony Hopkins!

Re: Releases in 'early' 2011

thought you guys would be the best to ask on this, any more info on the NCIS release

Re: Releases in 'early' 2011

Any news if there will be any Vampire Diaries, True Blood or even Fringe?

As far as I know, no company has got the rights to these

Nothing yet and Rittenhouse have released their schedule to May so definitely not before then (and maybe not this year)

Autos are 1 per case (signers not released yet) and sketch cards are 1 per 2 boxes.

Marvel Beginnings (Upper Deck) - 12 Apr - each box will have either a sketch OR an auto from a Marvel 'icon' OR a villains hologram.
personally i would be pissed at pulling a hologram as opposed to auto or sketch

Also, they've mentioned Stan Lee as one of the icons but the icon status may be highly variable. I would expect lesser know personalities to make up the auto numbers. The boxes are supposed to be equally spread between autos, sketches and holograms (1 per 3 boxes for each). It doesn't make a very attractive set and I can't see them successfully competing against the Rittenhouse products. Of course, if nobody buys it, it will be worth a forture later on because of low supply :)

point in case that amazing Marvel Masterpieces series, although that was pretty limited.

Would love a Fringe release.

Some good stuff they could use for prop cards.

Re: Releases in 'early' 2011

Okay, there's a promo coming out for NCIS in April. This suggests the set will be released around September. The promo is for NCIS seasons 1-4 so it looks like they're doing the first four seasons this year and potentially have some additional sets planned in future years.

I am definitely going to get into some NCIS trading card action and will have to keep a look out for promo's

2011 UD Marvel Beginnings-IMPORTANT NEW INFO!!

First and foremost, thanks for all of the feedback that we have received regarding this new and exciting release. We are excited about it as well, and wanted to provide everyone with some additional information about some of the content specifics.

There are 42 different holograms in the product, seeded at a rate of 1:72 packs. That makes the odds of finding any one hologram approximately 1:10 cases and therefore ensuring that these cards have tremendous value.

n There are 60 different Micro Motion cards, and these are seeded at approximately 1:2 packs. These cards feature a clear, etched lentricular technology that give the cards a bit of motion.

n Die cut cards will be found in any pack that does not have a micro motion card.

n Look for randomly seeded 1 of 1 press plate cards!

n No single artist will be sketching more than 99 total cards, therefore ensuring a wide variety of looks and works

n This release is HOBBY ONLY

n Confirmed sketch artists so far are:

Dan Panosian

Graham Nolan

Jim Cheung

Joyce Chin

Cat Staggs

Kate Bradley

Remy “Eisu” Mokhtar

Jonboy Meyers

David Mack

n Confirmed autograph signers include:

Stan Lee

Brian Michael Bendis

Joe Sinnott

Kurt Busiek

Gerry Conway

David Michelinie

We understand that other non-sport companies build their products around promoting more abundant sketch cards and autographed cards. And while we agree that these cards are extremely important, and will be including tons of both in Marvel Beginnings, we also wanted to produce a product that is DIFFERENT from what is constantly offered as well as to pay homage to the history of the Marvel brand and it’s most famous (as well as lesser known and obscure) characters.

That would be fine if they didn't do such an awful job with Marvel Masterpieces (so I don't trust them) and didn't make it so difficult to complete the chase sets. With perfect collation, 6 boxes are needed for the micro motion set and the holograms are ridiculously rare so it's not worth trying to complete them. Would it be so difficult for them to have say 3 holograms in the hologram boxes? That is, each box either delivers a sketch, an auto, or 3 of the hologram set. At that level I'd be willing to buy maybe a case and see if I could trade to a complete set. Because it's essentially impossible, I probably won't buy anything.

I will be in for this, sounds like a few others will be in for it as well. i smell a group buy coming along when this is released!!

Re: Releases in 'early' 2011

Rittenhouse has put up some Dangerous Divas info and sketch card scans on their website here. I will be buying this myself and will do a group buy thread closer to the release date (it's a bit silly to do one now for late April!)
