Footscray - Western Bulldogs card collector

Apparently I have to do this. Have been watching what goes on for a while. Normally do all my business through ebay. Joined after dealing with someone who from here. I only deal in Bulldogs cards. All the extra cards I have I will list here for a week. Then I will list them on ebay.

A little more about me. Since I have told you basically nothing.

My ebay feedback score currently sits at 993 all positive. I have been trading on ebay for nearly 7 years.

I will be listing 2012 Champions cards and I will be basically giving them away, postage + what ever YOU want to pay. These are cards I don't need. I have already given away 1 complete set to a friends child. I still have 1 complete set minus the Bulldogs cards. There are also peel and reveal (unpeeled & peeled) & several insert cards. Once I work out how to make a trade list & a want list.

I am a serious collector, I only collect Footscray - Western Bulldogs cards. I am only missing 3 cards from my collection to my knowledge. The newest being a 2012 Draft Prospect Clay Smith State's Finest card, I haven't even seen one. The other 2 are from the 90's, but we will get to them later.

I hope this helps all of you a little. Nobody wants to deal with the new guy. As I stated I will continue to trade on ebay, but only because I have friends there (customers) whom I have been dealing with for several years. I am not in this to get rich or famous, I am in this because I am a collector.

My kids and boyfriend all for go for St George Dragons we can sometimes make friday night footy interesting to say the least

Thanks for the welcome. I am 41 yr old father of 1 & 1/2. Five weeks to go. My team doesn't look to good at the moment either.

The good thing for me is that the hole family barracks for the same team.

My collection dates back to 1970. Was started by my grandfather when I was born. A lot more cards to collect now though. Complete set for my team in 1970 was 4 cards. Now there are 2 releases every year (at least). Most of the time now there 3-4 cards per player.

Wow that was a long time ago I used to collect in the 70s and 80s and also played flicks to gain cards I didnt have That card collection got lost over the years But then this yr our 5yr old son wanted a set of footy cards which started off my boyfriend and I followed suit We are collecting the same thing but also different as I am concentrating on NRL 2012 and different Parramatta years as well as I would like to buy the 2008 centenary commons set but that will come in time

I think my team are done for the year now, can't see us winning another game. I'll still be there though.

It is a long time, but thankfully I didn't start it & I couldn't loose it. I wasn't given the collection until my grandfather passed away 10 years ago. Surprisingly it was only missing 2 cards from the 90's. My daughter wanted to start collecting at about the same age as your son, after seeing my collection. However foresight got the better of me, I started her collection before she was born. I have also started another 1 for my next child.

Haha my 15 yr old daughter thinks she is going on 30 not to mention her thinking she runs the house

My team has only won 3 games all this season and same here I will still support them Have supported them since the 70s even though they won a premmiership since the 80s but oh well thats life They did get up there in 2009 but lost on the grand final

Yep thats what great about card collecting its very much a family activity other than the cost lol ....Sorry to hear about your grandfather thats a shame .... Does your dad collect too ??????My son now has a folder of his own with maybe 50 cards in it So far we are tring to get him to understand the importance of looking after his collection So far so good My 14 year old son has started collecting WWE cards now .... Thats why both my boyfriend and are both collecting .... When we pass on the boys will get a huge collection each

Well my daughter is in for shock when the baby comes home.

My team has one 6 games so far this year, so we can't finish last. Which is a shame, I would at least like to win the wooden spoon ! You have been lucky with you team. My team has not played in a grand final since 1961. We haven't won one since 1954.

My wife doesn't think card collecting is a good thing, simply because of the cost. My grandfather's passing was a shame. My dad doesn't collect cards. He did but then it got a little silly, bring out several cards for the 1 player is pretty stupid. Especially when you think there 40+ players at each club.

My daughter currently has about 400 cards in her collection, all personally signed. My unborn currently has about 30. My collection has well over 1000 all personally signed.

Now that's funny. My daughter can't wait to be a big sister, so she says. I keep telling her things are going to be different, she doesn't understand it all yet.

I keep telling myself that my team will get there 1 day, but then reality kicks in. My team hasn't played in a grand final in my life time. That's all I want now is to play in 1 . I don't care if we win, just want to play in 1.

It's good that your team has played in 1 recently, didn't they play Melbourne Storm ? At least you can say you have seen your team play in 1 & win 1 in your life .

Only my wife thinks collecting is expensive. She thinks the money could be better spent elsewhere. However when asked what ...... nothing but silence.

The whole family are members of the Western Bulldogs. I have only missed 1 game in Victoria in 8 years. Round 1 this year due to surgery. I was on my way to the game when the pain got to much to deal with. Team lost by close to 100 points.

Getting signed cards is easier if you go to training sessions than games, so I've found anyway. Most of the players have more time at training sessions and their not to unhappy because they lost a game. So during school holidays I take a day off and take my daughter to a training session or 3. However it is very time consuming, very. It does make it a lot more interesting .
