Firstly this is not targeted at 1 member in particular.

I am sick and tired of members listing their cards as firesales, when you look at what they are selling it for, some are above ebay prices! And way above at that!

Then some don't add prices, when you ask you offer just below ebay prices (being a firesale you assume that's reasonable) they counter offer with above prices yet again!

Go and look up what a firesale is before you list your cards fs here!

End rant.

Normanly I would just ignore them, but I do enjoy it when people do bring these issues up! (<<see what I did there)

But yeah, it annoys me a little! It is the same on Blowout these days. Everything is called a "quicksale". But to me, a firesale or quicksale means that the price has to be low enough that even someone who isn't in the market for a particular card would consider buying it because it is cheap!

Also, the lack of prices on cards, while it has been covered before, is probably my biggest hate. If someone says "make an offer" I certainly won't be making an offer. I have changed my PC's lately so that there are not really any cards that I NEED to have. Therefore I can easily walk away from those make an offer threads!

Well said Norm

I particularly love it when some of those sellers send me low ball offers on cards. I just check out their current sale threads and put them in the time waster list

Sometimes I wish there was a way of enjoying the taste of cards !!! I would love to put up a video eating certain cards just so the spam mail stops because I would rather eat the card than sell to them

You'd be surprised how many sellers are like that. I'd like to eat a 1/1 someone has been low balling me for! lol

Maybe the forum can do up a how to do manual if someone actually wants to do a real fire sale thread and be allowed to put it in the title.

Just my 2 cents worth!!! I agree it grinds my gears when I'm trying to buy a particular card. A lot of members on here and other forums price there cards way above eBay and won't budge when you try and haggle. I really wonder sometimes why they bother when anyone who wants that particular card will just buy it on eBay. I know I have been doing that a lot lately.

And secondly, I don't sell much in here and for these reasons..

Everyone who wants to buy something, wants it under eBay. Fair enough, I want the same when I'm buying from here so I accommodate that! But they don't just want it under they want it so far under its not funny.

Everyone including myself is happy to quote previous eBay sales. But what I take into consideration which I don't think many other members do when they are buying is currency conversion usd to aud etc... $200usd is more like $230 aud at the moment but members will say the last one sold for $200 and not take the conversion into account.

That is why I pretty much sell eveything on eBay now.

Anyway, sorry for going off on abit of a tangent but needed to get it off my chest.

Only in this hobby can a seller take a product (a card) to a smaller market (here/Blowout vs Ebay) where it costs them less in overheads to sell, then list at a price well over ebay and then get sand all up their vagina when no one is buying up their overpriced shit...... That economics makes no sense what so ever.... except obviously to many in this hobby (Some of these sellers should try this theory in the business world and see how it goes)

Don't even get me started on the "firesale" or "need paypal fast" threads that are priced above ebay....

I get ppl want to buy for the least possible amount and sell for the highest possible, but don't have a sook if you're desperate to sell and won't meet the market... I will say this... If you are using "the last one on ebay sold for...." to justify an offer make sure you take into account what your postage costs would have been and the dollar conversion.... If the last one sold for $25 USD dlvd.... The LEAST you should offer using this theory is $30.....

yep as a seller it really chaffs my hole when you give them a price way below ebay (minus fees, exchange, discount etc.) then they turn around and ask for a further discount or "could you add this"
fortunately I can probably count on 2 fingers the amount of time it's happened to me on here in recent times and the deal/s never eventuated. well of course that's not counting @drob50 cos he likes to chaff my hole for fun
