FINALS: GAME 7 CATS vs PIES!!!

what a great game, who ever won this game is going to win the flag. Cats got over the line in the end but i think thats a fair enough result for collingwood, holds us well for next season and lets face it if we beat the cats tonight you guys woulda just been laughed at really. Cats were a mile ahead of everyone all season and almost lost it in the end. Bad luck pies, well done cats and cats to win next week. How much of an influence did ottens have tonight? Pies really need a good ruckman, frazer may have made the difference tonight. Cats winners on 07

collingwood played really good and for geelong sake its good they got the choke game (choke but manage to win) b4 the grand finals. they werent at their best but credit to collingwood for giving geelong a good game.

Watching a reply on Foxtel right now, god am I pissed that I didnt get to go :mad::mad:

The stupid woman that shared my job with (she did 4 shifts and I did 3 shifts) up and quit the other day, leaving me to work for the next 9 days straight (I get GF day off tho) including tonight, after one of the guys I work, who is a MCC member, with invited me to go with him (he is a maggies fan and im a catters man)

Anyways, enough about me not going to see it.

in the 3rd quarter, both teams were going hell for leather, real finals footy, great tackles and smothers, and great movement of the ball, errors everywhere but the attack on the footy was great; a great lead up to a grand final in a grand final atomsphere game.

Im happy to see the Cats in the GF, but if they manage to make it 4 losing grand finals in row since i was 7, i will simply snap.

another excellent finals game. both sides gave it everything but the clean hand and foot skills of geelong were just breathtaking to watch, especially guys like ablett and bartel. ablett is just exciting to watch; he should get the brownlow just off last nights performance. and big barry had a blinder too.

full credit to the pies, played hard and with heart but just outclassed by a team that will have no trouble securing a second premiership for the geelong footy club.

Just as long as they don't do a Mavs of 06...

They didn't, they made it past the first round

Anywho, as a football lover I am very impressed by this Collingwood team coming back from perth and taking it right up to the clear best team of the season. The future looks bright with an excellent bunch of young up and comers mixed with hard veterens and it is working a treat. Dare I say, do you really need Judd?
As for the Cats, well it was expected really and people will be having a crack at them about it being only 5 points, but come on, it doesn;t matter how you do it, as long as you get there! (That said, I stand by my start of the Finals tip of Port to win...but we'll see after the game today!)

However, as a Collingwood Hater I am very impressed with Collingwood getting knocked out :D but on the down the side the future looks bright...:(

All jokes aside, excellent season both teams. Collingwood were tipped to be bottom 4, so kudos to you!

Not a bad game last night... Atleast the pies were in it till the final whistle... It was a bit scrappy, but hey I'm used to that being a Swan!

So you turned seven after 1989? Cos in my mind this makes at least 5 if they do lose it in modern history. 89, 92, 94, 95 + 07?? Doubt it.

Actually it will be Geelongs 7th premiership :) It's just been a long time between drinks with their last win in 63.

Which, being a Melbourne supporter, is the exact reason why I am going for the other team next saturday! Their drought is from 1963, and ours is from 1964

Yeah, I was only 4 when the Catters to the Hawks in 89; my first GF memory is my dad being so happy that the Maggies won in 90 against the bombers.

Ive seen the 89 GF; my old man bought it for me for a present  a few years back and watching was amazing seeing Ablett dominate.

Make me feel old mate. I was 7 in 89!

Well i lost my voice last night, i was seriously pumped, for our boys to get that close is an amazing feet and is a credit too them. Full credit also to the Cats you got over the line when it counted!

I wont comment much on some of the inconsistant umpiring during the game, but i will say one thing but they missed alot of frees last night at crucial times and paid alot of soft ones, dont be afraid to blow your whistle if the free is there...

Now i like Ottens yes hes a good player but i think with the competition he faced last night Bryan and Richards everyone is sort of overrating his game.. he did well but, Ablett killed us indeed.

To my boys, 7 guys under the age of 21 played last night, they had a week off and we were up in Perth playing in extra time. Cloke smashed Milburn, Rusling showed he can play on the big occasions and Moneybags, Harry O, Leon, Maxwell, Clement and Swann all were terrific.

Pendlebury and Heath Shaw had shockers, Rocca never got a kick and we only got done by 5pts to the highly fancied Premiership favs. Great effort boys, only if we had of had Josh we would be on the big one next weekend.

To everyone who thinks that the Cats played shit... get real lasts night game was awesome one of the seasons best. The Cats made errors because we forced them, the desperation by both sides was unbelievable. The Pies tackling over the last month has been the best in finals no one can doubt that as it was on show last night.

i thought maxwell had a great game,he has had a great year, and imo rusling is to hot and cold he can take a great grab but doesnt follow up with the little 1 percenters in the forward line!pies play well but just fell short.they should look to getting rid of richards in the off season!

cheers
