After 3 years of xboxing and various late night Halo sessions I have finally gotten bored! This has led to my purchasing of a slimline PS2 (very sleek and small) with the best mod chip money can buy!

Armed with a multi-tap and four controllers I am ready to rock-n-roll!

I am wanting people to put up their top 5 PS2 games here so that I can start getting into it! :D

It would also be great if you could add any really good multiplayer games!
 
oh, as for games, I haven't played heaps of PS2 games, but i've played a few that i quite like:

Tekken 5
Burnout: Revenge
Final Fantasy X
 
i guess the console was never really designed for that purpose, hence why you need to buy a multitap
it really shouldve been designed to cater for 4 controller ports too, but i guess they were trying to keep the costs down

online's where all the multiplayer gaming is at these days, shame it doesnt have the same atmosphere as a bunch of mates sitting around having a bash. however, online gaming is alot more conveninent and readily available whenever you want it.

seems there's always a human cost with our ever evolving technologies
 
Possibly 2 of the best PS2 games will be released in the next couple of months; Scarface in Sept and Reservoir Dogs in Oct..!!

My favourites right now are:
NBA Live 06
True Crimes: Streets of NY and
Evil Dead Regeneration (The game isn't that good but I love listening to Bruce Campbell)
 
Best modchip Money can buy? Care to elaborate? Ive been thinking of getting a PS2 and might consider a modchip .. to allow region free dvd's of course ;)

Do you fit them yourself?

I had it fitted because it doesn't cost anymore. The chip I got is the latest one that can play 99% of all PS2 games and DVD's. Newer games for 2006 have safety seals that stop certain chipped ps2's from playing them. My chip cost $150 on special from $200, and it is the last chip they are going to be bothered making as the PS3 comes out soon.

Cheaper chips will play 88%, 77% and 66% of all types of discs. Hope that helps! :)
 
Get an Xbox, can play PS2 games on em!! lol. Well I havent got the chipset for it, but it's possible. I got a classic PS1 game "Kula World" on the Xbox.

As for games..

Final Fantasy X/X-2
Metal Gear Solid (fave was 2 but 3 looks sic!!!!)
Worms 4 (classic killem style turn based fun!!!)
Tekken 5 is sweet
Got some others, just can't think.

I've had a copy of "2006 NCAA March Madness" basketball which hasn't got any play yet like most of my recent pick ups!! This worries me a little! lol I actually play my mates x-boxs more than my ps2! :rolleyes:
 
OK, heres some games you MUST own, i absolutely guarantee you will love these:

Resident Evil 4 (one of the sickest games ever)
Final Fantasy X (and x-2 if you like X)
Devil may cry 1 and 3 (stay clear of 2)
God of War (awesome game)
Gran Turismo 4 (if your a car nut, i got a bit bored with it though)
Metal gear solid (playing 3 at the moment)
nba live 05 (its still average but the best bball game out)
grand theft auto series (san andreas is the best)
virtua fighter 4 evolution (the best fighting game ever!)

theres a good year or 2 of golden gaming there jase! enjoy! :D

yeah, it would have been great 2 player hey, maybe a bit too easy though. if you like GOW, i wholly recommend devil may cry 1 and 3, same kind of gameplay, and they rock even harder than GOW IMO.
 
Nothing Beats Madden NFL..... and always the most recent version... so Madden 06.... thats if ya like sports games with big hits heheheh but it can be multiplayer.... which is an advantage.
