Final Fantasy XII

yeah have for the moment but hoping to get some play in tonight, have been trying to to got bed early as i was having lots of late nights while i was playing it and looked like a zombie the next day:D ........ lookin forward to getting back to it though..... will keep ya posted

same been flat out last week or so and havent touched it.
this week may get back into it as works slowin up a tad :v:

just rescue mjrn. the boss for that caused me a little headache and week or so ago so i just went and leveled up. now the boss after the rescue causing me headaches :(

Was just about to try and go for the Esper in the Caverns near the Garif Village...

Bad idea. First bunch of foes I came across (just inside the front door) have 6000+HP! And basically kick arse!

So decided to come back. They recommend being LV 45+ for him anyways (Vaan is 31)

On my way to the Golmore Jungle.
Been trying to get some cash and get the Monographs.

defeated the monster (worm thing), after rescuing mjrn, second time round. should spend more time levelling up but what you gonna do. would make the game a little easier if i was stronger

made it through to Mt. Bur-Omisace to find that its doesnt exist anymore.

lol only joking. still there. needing to go to a new place in order to get the sword of the kings which will defeat nethicite. sort of like the tomb of the kings in there but havent ventured in yet.

got my arse wooped by boss in the leviathan dreadnaught and havent played since been playing god of war II which is awesome by the way, ...... back to FFXII will have another crack at the boss very soon, hoping to finish him off then, will have to change some of the gambits which w ill make things easier..... hopefully

Went to the Euryt Village, meant to be on my way to the Hemme Mines? But once again, decided to do a little venturing, in defeating some Hunts.

Took some time to kill off some Panthers in the Golmore Jungle (they sometimes drop the Corel Pelts which sell for about 435 Gil), and had them up to level 80+ when I realised I had 99 Pelts. Sucks they havent changed that rule yet. 999 Would be better.

Anyways, went back to Rabanastre, and to the Hunt Clan place to get some more Hunts.

First one I took a crack at, the White Mousse... lol, next Hunt, that bastards way to freakin hard.

I want to go down the Zertinan Caverns to find one of the hidden Espers, but at the moment, I'm too weak.

Has anyone defeated the Demon Wall yet, to get the Demonsbane?

I managed to get 2 of them, but it took some time. There's only 1 Chest in the secret passage that opens up (Tomb Of Raithwall), and there's a 50% chance it'll contain the Sword.

If it's not there, you gotta leave the Tomb (all on foot, DON'T touch a Save Crystal), and walk out to the first screen of the Sandsea, and then back to try again. Repeat as necessary.

You can buy the sword later, but it's great to have now.

Most enemies have around 1000-1100 HP and if two people have the Demonsbane they almost kill on the first strike (two hits dealing around 600-700 sometimes 1000+!!!!).

currently in the Stilshine of Miriam. been trying to figure out how to activate everything and finally released had to equip the dawn shard. after an hour running round the same room. no bosses so far in here but will be as soon as i get in further

chasing the Sword of Kings.

LOL, tried my luck in the Zertinan Caverns, I wanted to go after the Esper Adrammelch..... Well, I started to put a nice hole in his HP, until the other guys around him started to appear (roughly 3,000HP each) and they attack strong.

Summoned Belias, and he was doing well, but his low HP and Ashe's (she has Belias) lack of MP after summoning, caused her to not be able to heal quickly enough, and Belias was KO'd.

I will try again soon, but just arrived at the Henne Mines. After the Mines, I'll give Adrammelch another go. He only has 39,630 HP. If I can get some strong Weapons and do 1,000+ attack, I'll be right.

I also knocked off a couple of Marks. One being the Level 5 White Mousse!!! This guy was hard, REAL hard!! Has 69,469 HP!!!! (hint, you want to have an easier chance, Summon Belias, and use Reflectfa Motes on Belias + character. Then, just attack and attack!! Sure, Waterga heals the White Mousse, but at only 300+ HP (or damage) the Pain Flare does close to 2,500 each rip!!

I think I summoned Belias 3 times (a lot of Ethers were used).

I also took out the Ring Wyrm. He was tough, but was able to get through him easily enough, it just took time (with 128, 648 HP, that says it all).

Well, just finished in the Henne Mines. Decided to go back to Rabanastre, and check for new Hunts.

Itax (Level 3) came up (petitioner is in Garif Village). Will check that one tonight. Sounds easy enough.

Went back to the Garamsythe Waterway, as there was a Mark that I had not defeated there yet (forget it's name, but you must have all 3 female characters in active party, as he won't come out with the Male ones).

He was reletively tough, but after summoning Belias 3 times, I took him out (would have only needed 2 times, but just before I said to summon him, Ashe was put into confusion, and she killed him, lol).

Hint:
Buy 6 Golden Armlets (I think that's them) from the Merchant outside the Euryt Village. Equip to all characters (unless other protection/items are required) as they give Double LP (even those not active).

Going to have another try at the Esper Adrammelch again tonight, I think my levels might be a bit stronger now, and the newer Weapons (including the Icebrand - 71 I think, and the Yoichi Bow - 76 I think).

How's everyone else going???

Completed the "Sick Patient" side quest last night.

Picked up the Barheim Key. Which takes you back into the Barheim Passage (another section), and allows access to an Elite Mark, and a Hidden Esper.

I'm going after the Esper, but the Skeletons that turn up (they're "something" Bones - can't think of name), they have about 6,000HP.

I killed one last night, and got an AWESOME Axe. Can't think of it's name right now, but it's about 85 attack!!!!!

Going to go to Golmore Jungle, and Level up some. I want to go up about 10 levels (43) so I can take on these two Espers I've mentioned.

Where's everyone else at?

How good is this game? How highly do you rate it compared to other simil;ar games?
Thinking about buying it and want some opinions on what the gameplay is like.
Cheers

Ever seen/played FFVII? They've always said that, FFVII was THE best in the series...

I'm starting to not believe... this game is FANTASTIC!

If you sit through a long arse movie, and still enjoy it, you will get hooked on this game.

One thing, you need to be used to what's called a "Turn-Based System". All these games are based on this as their "Fighting System".

You can walk freely to just about any place accessible.

You will encounter enemies whilst not in a town/village. These fiends can be tough, but they get easier as you level up.

If you're bound to buy a new game soon, then at least go to EB, and use their 7-day trial, and check it out.

You will not regret it!!! Just try not to read too many spoilers above.

Ask for tips, but watch the spoilers.

Hey Col, I've been going 60+ hours, and I'm about 3 sectors behind you, lol. Goes to show I'm slow at these games. - That and I'm keeping up to date with all Marks, side quests, etc, etc.

Just fired the sony up before logging on actually, ha ha ha

i like to go hard and fast and in short bursts

doh!!! lol :D

update anyways still in the Stilshine of Miriam. was having trouble getting in then realised i had to have the dawnshard equiped to ashe. had to show the royal heritage. only took a week doh

OMG.... LOL, check this out!

Was down in the Barheim Passage as I wanted to find this hidden Esper, and rather than stopping to fight, I just held the flee button, and ran.

No probs.

Anyways, gets to the 2nd to last screen away from the Esper, and these Wraiths-type fiends turn up. You can't run from em!!! LOL.

You run, and they teleport and catch up, either hitting you, or casting some sort of magic. Anyways, I didnt make it to see the Esper, I was demolished in next to no time.

Looks like it's back to the levelling up idea. ha ha ha

I know I post a lot in this thread, but I can't help it...

Hence...

It brings me to the subject of "Deathbringer".

I've read a little about it, and while I was reading about it, I thought it was WAY further down the track.

If you're able to get to the Barheim Passage (see above), you can take a shot (or more) at trying to pick up some.

There's a long passage, that has basically these frog-dragon looking things (Zolonders or something?? - I'll confirm later).

Anyways, it's usually got about 6-8 of these, + an Adamantite (big Turtle with 15,000HP), + 2-3 (maybe 4) Chests.

First chest usually has around 2,700 Gil!! 2nd has a small amount, the 3rd might have about 1,800 Gil, and the 4th, IF it's there...

Might contain the "mimic" Ithulon. It's a HUGE monster (huge as in, tough, and lots of HP).

Don't try to kill it, you'll most likely get wiped out quicker than you think. Instead...

STEAL...

It only contains 1 item at a time, and that's the Deathbringer (Sword with +90 attack + KO).

I havent been successfull yet, but I've heard you need to have the Theif's Cuffs equiped to speed up the steal succession rate.

Going back to try it after Danni's watched that damn Home & Away. lol.

I found this which might help..

Also, here's something I can't nut out yet, but it looks like they're getting something awesome from it...??

Oh wow, guess what I just found out...

In the Westersand Area on the borders of the Galtea Downs, and the Corridor of Sand, you can find the Dustia.

Now...

Listen very carefully...

Before making your way here, you will need a STASH (I bought 99) of Phoenix Downs.

You will also need to be alone (no additional party members can be active. Either remove them, or if you've a guest, kill him/her off.

You will also need to have either 10% or less HP. (I have 27/2562 HP).

Setup the Gambit - Foe: Nearest = Phoenix Down.

Cancel any other active Gambits.

Now enter the Corridor of sand, wait, Dustai should appear.
Your character should throw a PD at him, and kill him instantly, NOW.. Before he has died completely, you must retreat to the Galtea Downs. This will allow him to respawn again next time you enter.

Why do this???

Each kill gives you 1101 EXP, and 3 LP!!!!

Repeat as necessary.... Great way to level up!!!!

It will allow me the next two Espers I want, so I'm a doin-it!
