cmon you know its gonna be gold, im surprised it took so long to get an english translation though. my japanese mate played and finished it over a year ago.
if youve got a big screen TV, just watching the CGI intro will give you wood its so ****ing pretty.
check out the major review sites like ign and gamespot, most people like it but some reckon its average. ill prolly try and get it cheap on ebay in a few months when the hype dies down and everyone concentrates on ps3.
the game is most definately awesome i bought a copy of ebay last week and sadly im now addicted to playing it, i even bought the limited edition walkthrough that has been put out, it a really nice leather look antique style book with everything you would need to know about the game,
Anyway back to the game, i think its great the battle system is sooo much better than the previous editions and i loved them!!! (with the exception of X2)
The graphics are beautiful , just general navigation is great although the camera angle can take some getting used to, it made my eyes go squify for a while but its all good now, oh and i sort of got my character killed in one spot cause i forgot how the camera changed angles when i came out of a cave so instead of running away from my persuers i charged em!!! HEHEHHEH
the licences are a pretty cool idea basically if you want to equip a better weapon then you have to first buy the licence using your LP points that you get from battles then purchase the weapon itself same goes for magic you buy the licence then buy the magic but heres the good part you only have to buy the magic once for the whole party to use it provided they have the requisite licence pretty cool huh??
Righto....
Been playing quite a bit lately, this game is THE BEST so far! Sure, FFVII was and is always my all-time fave FF instalment, with FFVIII just up there.
FFX & FFX-2 are pretty close to how this game is.
There's a couple of new features, that make this game stand out.
1 and the most noticable, you can see your enemies in the screens so no more random battles. You can either try to run by them, or you can set the 1st attack against them, or if you linger too much, they'll more than likely pick you off, and set the 1st attack on you.
The 2nd...
Rather than be like the rest, where you have to learn something before you can use it (FFIX), and not like the others where you can use while learning it. Each action, magic, etc, has to be gained (acquire the licence) before you can use it.
Same goes for equipment. You might have the magic "Cure" but without the Licence for White Magic Lv1, you cannot USE it. This is pretty cool.
Now for a SWEET introduction...
Battles...
Much the same as all the rest, however, you can give a party member the "Leader" status, and the rest are just Party Members. You can then set "Gambits" on each party member, where they'll decide their own actions during a battle, but you can give them an order whenever you wish, to which they'll fulfill first, before continuing their own course of action.
I'm still very early in the actual progress of the game, I've only JUST picked up my 1st new Party Member.
One thing to note, Gil is VERY hard to come by, and the items that are dropped by the Enemies you kill 90% are useless to you, and you have to sell them off to get money.
When buying items from Merchants/Stores, you can sell items back, and sometimes you can sell the right items, and it will allow access to some "Bazaar" Items, which can be either rare items, cheap items, or items in bulk (a pack of 2 Potions).
I've decided, if FFVII was designed in this same way, it'd be the SHIT!
MUST GET IT GUYS!!!!!!
p.s. The actual game play, it's an RPG (Role Playing Game) where you are basically free (in a sense) to run your own course of directions (sometimes having to go left, instead of right, etc), you decide what players do what, you decide pretty much the gameplay.
It's much like most other games (platform, RPG, adventure) but with the battle systems, and kick arse stories!!!!
Wow, you seem pretty pumped about this game, and so do others.
O.k, for someone whom has never played a single one of these series, will they get it? Is it an easy game to pick up?
Yeah Camera angles are hard at first, but once used to, it's a breeze.
Definately single-player, no Online anymore! I still havent bought FFXI, for the simple fact that it's online only. I might buy it one day just for the sake of having it (and all of the others too) but I'll never get to play it.
Cathy, where abouts are you up to?
I've just finished killing Thextera (2nd Hunt) and got the stone to enter the Palace Cellar. Panelo has just left my party. (DAMN).
p.s. if you havent got one, you should get a Bow... they ROCK!!!
Oh, and another note...
Unlike FFX-2 where you can use Guns, and you require ammunition, with the Bows, you require ammunition too, but it doesnt run out, you have infinite ammo. Not sure if it's the same for the Guns, but I hope so.
