Hey Linn, I wasnt sure what extensions went with what, I just sourced the different possibilities, and that's what I came up with. Cheers!!! I've actually discovered a way to avoid needing to ask this (for an application I'm still writing), but I guess the feedback never hurt! So thanks everyone!

nandalinnaung Dwight Howard #12 Feedback - 100% 124 0 0 May 28, 2007 #9 Scotty, i just meant, i use jpg for windows and png for linux.. they both can be created on each platforms.. if you are writing a program just to create and retrieve??, png is best suited. . IMO.. like gif extension, if u want interlaced or frames or animated... coz for photos even pdf and raw would work.. depends on what you are after.. hope that helps...
