My favorite current player is Amare Stoudemire, i always remember his explosivness and ability to play above the rim before his injury and i was a suns fan at the time.

My favorite player that i never got to watch live from the older days would have to be Magic Johnson, the showtime lakers ran by him were unbelievable and i love how in his rookie season Kareem goes down injured and he stepped in and played C getting 42, 15 and 7 and earning Finals MVP.

Whose your past and present favorite players?

Growing up I enjoyed watching Shawn Kemp the most, just that power man, the POWER!

At the moment, Im really liking a few players who have so much heart: Faried and Jae Crowder.

But my favourite player is LeBron James, sooo much talent in one person, I dont think we've ever seen someone like LeBron before.

player/reason why i got into basketball: larry bird. pure heart. loved the way he made fundamental ball his own.
first player crush: larry johsnon. his intensity just got me.
fave recent player: AI. could be the most exciting player ive seen.
fave current player: kevin love. the new larry bird? or rubio...

Past - The Admiral, no doubt!! He is the reason I fell in love with the game. I wore his clothes, collected his cards, watched his games.
He was such a workhorse! A real leader and will hopefully always remain the last person ever to record a quadruple double!!!

Current, as much as I want to say, Kawhi Leonard, I have been a bit underwhelmed by him so far this season :( so I think I am gonna go with a non-spur and say Kyrie Irving!!

Kevin Love
Ricky Rubio
Kobe Bryant
Michael Beasley
Kevin Durant

Retired

Larry Johnsons 4 point play is one of the greatest plays iv ever seen, he also had like 3 other 3's that game, when it was him, alonzo, muggsy and curry that team was awesome

Fave player from 2003-2010 was Melo, then he left Denver. I don't exactly have a favourite at the moment I'm just loving my Nuggets right now.

A few players I am a HUGE fan of are:

Carmelo Anthony - Best scorer in the league, absolute machine.
LeBron James - Best all-round player to ever play basketball
Jordan Hamilton - This guy goes HAM, Given the chance could be the 20ppg scorer Denver needs. Damn you Karl! Free J-HAM!
DeMarcus Cousins - Big fan since I watched a Kentucky game @Mississippi State where the day before the game some Mississippi State students found his phone number and were calling and texting him with racial & homosexual slurs the whole night before the game then he comes out drops 19 points and 14 boards and does this midway through the game.

BOOGIE CUZZZZ!

As for retired guys Magic, Shaq & AI. Magic's Passing skills and Iverson's scoring skills are second to none and Shaq is just Shaq.

Must be a celtics fan!!!! :cautious:

Current:
JJ Redick - just love his game, his bball IQ is off the charts, and has to be the hardest worker in the NBA. Not as naturally gifted as most (except shooting), he has worked his a55 off every year - plus he's dreamy
Carmelo - scoring machine!!!!
Hedo Turkoglu - BALL!!!
John Wall - He WILL be the best PG in the league!!!
Tyreke - Wasted potential on the Kings - needs an outside shot

Former:
Penny - the reason i watch this sport in the first place
McGrady - come back from China!!!
AI - reasons stated by posts above

Dwyane Wade for me, he was the reason I began going for the heat, watched his college highlights and his athleticism and aggressiveness was so good to watch, so i said id go for the team he got drafted to and boy did that pay off, such an exciting player to watch, hes allready one of the best SGs to play the game but i just cant help but wonder how unstoppable he would be with a consistent 3 point shot! haha

Retired - Penny, just the player he was and became when shaq left, had the best duals with MJ when I was young

Current - Kevin Durant, can't name a thing on a basketball court he can't do, ruthless assassin on court and humble great guy off the court that wants to learn.

Shawn Kemp will forever be my fav b-ball player simply because his dunks got me into the game at a young age :)

Good calls mate, especially on Durant, Wall and Tyreke, just sooo much talent.

The current and near-future NBA's is in good hands with the likes of Durant, DRose, KLove and JLin in the game. Very good ambassadors and examples.

Past..... Patrick Ewing. Initially when I started collecting and decided on a player collection, I collected ewing because he was affordable while still being a superstar but as I got more of his cards and found out more about him, I grew to respect him as a person. Ditto for Jalen Rose.

Current Player - Kevin Garnett. Say what you will about his on-court demeanor, the guys is all heart. I mean why else would a guy who had the skill set to score 30-35 a night in his prime have a career high season average of 24.2 ppg? Plus the fact that he gave his mother a house and car and let her choose which job she dropped with his rookie contract gives me all the more reason to respect him as a man.

Current player - Kemba Walker because he reminds me of a unselfish version of Allen Iverson & the kids a winner plus being a fan of college ball more than NBA and a UCONN fan the run he took us to when they won the title 2 years ago was amazing

Adam Morrison. All he does is win championships and grow epic moustache's - what's not to like!

But seriously - who else, KG - watched since rookie year, loved his enthusiasm, perseverance and heart, he was lanky at the time but still showed finesse and power, loved the shooting style and spin moves, the work ethic and die for your team mates attitude, the 'F YOU other team i'm here to win attitude', and now the longevity and adaptability as the career goes on and I can still get to watch him play! :hearts:

I have a couple favs from the past.
GP and ZO, I always loved The Glove's tenacity on the court. He'd talk the talk and walk the walk, lock down any guard put in his way score and could find Kemp with his eyes closed which made for some great viewing.
ZO I followed from his entry into the NBA, defensive beast and always played above his weight. Sure he had some guys dunk on him but thats because he was never afraid under the rim. He'd be up in the air trying to block anything coming his way. Damn I miss centre's of the past :(

Present favourite player would have to be LeBron, just a ridiculously talented athlete. If he can get his jumpshot down win a couple more rings I think he could be one of the greatest (depending on how injury free his later years are)

D Robinson will always be number one for me, Most athletic centre that will ever play this game, I personally think he changed the way entire franchises run their orginisations now, a lot of teams model there's on the spurs now and it all started with him.
Will always always have mj at no 1 though, he changed sport in general. He put basketball on the map, did things that no one else could do, but most of all I think everyone admires him because he was the ultimate competitor.

Also have manu ginobili up there now purely for the excitement of not knowing what he is going to serve up. I'm pretty sure he doesn't know half the time!! All instincts.
