Quick fill-ya-in....

I bought a stack of 22 Harris cards before we moved, and they all turned up in a team bag, in a bubble mailer. No other protection, etc.

I left the Seller a Neg straight up, on the following grounds:
* I received 21 cards
* ALL corners were f-cked
* I couldnt be arse trying to work a refund

I pretty much got a retaliation back straight up. No probs, I took it to Ebay in hope (yeah right) that they might have some sort of a back bone, and suspend his arse... NOPE...

I even (again, yeah right) tried to see if they'd do anything about the Neg I got, nope nothing done there (not like I REALLY thought they would).

Anyways, I requested their personal info, in hope that they'd maybe shit emselves a little, and offer to withdraw it... NOPE... wrong again.

I then proceeded to file a PayPal claim on the grounds they were not as originally described, and that they were damaged.

I have since been going back and forth with PayPal, and hence what I'm going to share with you, will provide a little knowledge with everyone.

Basically, PayPal tell me I need to have a grader (or similar qualified 3rd party) assess the cards, and provide a "document" stating my case.

Hmmmm, not sure who in Tassie, let alone Australia, would be able to help me with that....

I've tried to explain my situation but nope, here's PayPal's response:

Dear Scott Godfrey,

Hello my name is Matt, I will be happy to assist you with your question
regarding your account.

I appreciate your inquiry. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept a scan
of the items in question. You will need to go somewhere like collectables
shop that sells sports cards, or somewhere to get the items appraised. I
understand that you are stating that there are no places like that in your
area. I'm really sorry Scott, but without evidence from a 3rd party we will
not be able to decide in your favor.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Sincerely,
Matt

My Response:

Thanks Matt,

So in other words, I've paid for some cards, the seller has done all they can to ensure the cards COULD get damaged, as it's happend, and now you want me to fly to the United States to have my cards inspected for damage, and then you want me to provide you with the documents in which will state my case?

How does this "Buyers Protection" protect my purchase? It clearly doesnt....

Regards,

A very UNHAPPY,

Scott Godfrey

As you can see, unless I can get to the US in a few days, and back again, and then post off the "document" my case will be closed.

I will make mention that this is over $8 bucks.

Now don't get me wrong, it's not the cash I'm concerned about. I'm just pissed at the seller for leaving a retalitory neg, and feel this is the best way to kick the prat in the nuts, just like he f-ckin deserves.

I've got a 2nd Ebay account, and am just waiting for them to post up multiple sales, in which I'll try my best to buy up all I can, in return for negatives.

End Rant. Nothing more needs to be said.

this is so unfair..
eBay doesn't really seem to care.. and i think that kind of seller should not be around in eBay.. very disappointing...

i assume the seller is again from US.. :(

Typical eBay & Paypal behaviour. Just make up a letter from a fabricated card shop saying the cards are in my opinion damaged to the extent to be of little to no value blah blah blah and see what paypal says about that.

Hi mavs
i dont know if this will help this is a contact number to the aussie paypal where you can actually talk to someone

02 8223 9500 in Sydney and a toll free number 1800 073 263 i think this is US paypal.

Al

Thanks guys, and thanks Al, I might try that number. I did get an email saying cos I'm a premium member, I'm allowed to call them up and talk to someone 24-7?

That's not a bad idea Bargey....
Anyone wanna be my "grader"??? #-o

I lodged a claim & won,But they could not retreive my $$ ,so i Got nothing & the seller got $17 US & got to keep his cards.Thats what i call protection,For the seller.asswipes!

Ken Johnson was the sellers real name,I am still looking for him.

As far as i am concerned,Thier is no protection what so ever ,It suck's.

Man, that sucks.

This is why I just roll my eyes when I hear from sellers, telling me how easy it is for buyers to be covered and sellers get rorted.

I too am currently going thropugh my e-bay/paypal hell.

And heres the thing, I did evrything by their books, and I am still in the process. I asked and paid for insurance and extra safe shipping and everything. 2 months and still nothing. If I lose this claim, I am so never getting insurance or registered mail again. Period.

The title says it all! Well almost, forgot the seriously retarded US sellers. That's what sort of effect George Bush can have on ya though. lol.

Well after my last email, they sent me back another saying I can probably get a report form a Pawn shop (damn, I know so many PORN shops, but not PAWN...).

Anyways, I'll work something, if not, I'll just let them off the hook, and forget about it all.

I'd suggest getting it graded at the "House of Chad"!!!

;-)

Surely you can doctor a certificate of inauthenticity!!

But yeah, I'd be wondering about the hassle for $8. Protection is supposed to be there, but too often people decide it's not worth the hassle trying to chase up.
