I actually like the change. as other people have mentioned they are different and that is what everyone has been wanting for years. As for people not liking them and saying they will not collect them, I garauntee they look a lot better than any of the Dynamics sets and I would say most people on this site have collected them.
If people keep whinging about every set that comes out eventually there will be no sets to collect as no one will want to make them
End of the day if you dont like them dont buy them. As for me I know I will be buying them as they will be the only cards that will be realesed
Has anyone thought that maybe this will be the first set released after the rep season and that there will be a second set that will have Club sets later in the year with more current player pics stats etc. Instead of having 2 sets a year almost identical to each other, but only time will tell.
My initial thoughts we're that this set is to fill the gap between now (closer to the end of the season) and their first proper full release schedule next year. If the agreement only went live today, they put out a smaller scale set in September and release a full blown set next year.
I'd expect they would want to have something out there soon so they won't lose out in the first 6-8 months of their contract.
Not complaining just making an observation in fact I'm OK with it as it means I can concentrate on finishing the Series II release from select before ESP roll out into production next year.

That is certainly my hope and the question I asked earlier. I'm sure your right this is an initial release before we get into the normal releases next year but would be nice to have this confirmed.

Choices choices. People may have no money left to buy these. Will wait until i see a sell sheet but it looks like what we have all been asking for in countless threads on here.
I can say I have sent 3 emails to them introducing our wonderful forum here and giving them a great platform to promote their products and as yet haven't had a response. One thing they need to quickly establish is a website or blog like Panini to converse with their potential customers. If they don't do this quickly people will get frustrated at not having a channel to speak with them. I would think having spent a bit of money to get the rights they would have this already in place in the lead up to their first release.
I know it's early days but I thought they would jump at the opportunity to be able to connect instantly with the thousands of members here.

Could the reason the have not done team sets is that their agreemenet with the NRL does not start until next year and they may have an agreement with the ARL in place. doesn't select have the license for NRL until end of the year
