Your right $600 was ridiculous but rarely did a Select card hit that mark (aside from the early years and Immortal sigs)...........
JWH and Matt MoylanWhich players were the rumoured jersey cards, was it posted in here
Why is it detrimental for the hobby? I don't they have dropped in price too much, you'd have been silly to pay much over $100 for them in the first place. But if I was thinking of getting into cards, the League Sensations are exactly the type of thing that would entice me.
There were what, 1600 league sensation cards out there last year (can't remember if they were out of 100 or 110, or what exactly), so that's why they aren't selling for the Select prices ... personally I don't see a drama with that, I would much rather they had continued with it and had another quality Knights player with a sig this year, myself.
If you can call any Knights players quality.
Changing topic a bit.............I would say that the majority of Selects big hits signatures got that price and even more, there was certainly some duds along side the gems but every year had a whale of a hit IMO.
I'm bored so lets go through a few:
2000 Gasnier Legend Sig = $600+
2001 Langlands legends Sig = $600+
2002 Raper Legend Sig = $600+
2003 Lockyer Jersey Sig = $600+
2004 Capt Sigs = $600+
2005 Tradition Poore / Stewart / Tupou = $600+
2005 Power Beetson Legend Sig = $600ish
2006 Tye Williams......
2006 Invincibe Johns Record Breaker = $600ish also JT Medallist
2007 Invincible C Smith probably unders...just?
2008 Centenary Immortals x 7 = $600+
2009 Classic Lockyer Capt = $600+
2010 Dudded with no SeriesII
2011 Strike Slater / Hayne Medallists = $600ish
2012 Dynasty LLBs big $$$'s and Lockyer Signature card $600ish
Looks pretty good and I've left off stacks.
Cheers
Ross
I agree but I also think an issue maybe in a change to what cards collectors are chasing.League Sensation have been /130 both previous Elite releases. That is 2080 in total on the market. The reason they flooded the market was because elite packets were accessible on a level that Select never was. Therefore you had non collectors, buying packets (Elite 13 had two sigs per box and Elite 14 was somewhat searchable) and dumping them on the market for a quick $30 profit.
If his is what people are wiling to pay.
True, and 12 Packs in the AFL box have just common cards with no inserts...I'm not sure how much 'value' that adds to a box.
Haha, that's funny. Here is how I see it.... Its NOT what people are willing to pay, its what people are FORCED to pay.
WHY WOULD I PAY $9 for a pack when I can get a common set for $20 or even less
I'd be happy with either 2 of these... Who's are the rumoured duds? I think these guys are great picks...JWH and Matt Moylan

behave yourself they are both shockers for a main hit. and the third one christ, he plays nsw cup for fucks sake.I'd be happy with either 2 of these... Who's are the rumoured duds? I think these guys are great picks...

ESP had zero control of which players Jersey they received unfortunately. Blame the clubs if you dont like the choice or more importantly thank the clubs if you do
Just shows the lack of regard for the trading card industry from most of the clubs. Only four jerseys made available and not a marquee player in sight. So I suppose the four clubs should be given some accolade for their half-arsed effort whereas the others didn't want a bar of it. Seems us card collectors are way down the priority list this time as far as the NRL and the clubs are concerned.
