EBay Seller of the Month

That guy is a fair dinkum moron, he thinks he is ebay's trading card god. i personally have not heard of "Type A" or a "Type B" as he describes them for that series. My guess is that he has left out a set of cards and they got hit with UV rays from day light then he has seen that and gone "wow they must be a differant type of release now i can list each single common for $99ea)

Haha. It wouldn't surprise me from him.

I very vaguely remember having heard something similar before about this set.

I cant believe i just defended that douche.

Steve is a knob but the 2001 cards were printed on two different coloured sheets. It is almost unnoticable but its there. I dont think you could photograph it you would have to see in person. I hadnt noticed but Al from Als Trading cards pointed it out to me at the Parramatta fair one day. I have about 5 Parra ones and they are all even numbers so there might not be a full set. And I havent seen any in the piles of 2001s at fairs since so there is probably not many around and not worth bothering about. Wonder what Steve would sell the "rare" B type for!!

Does anyone know what odds are out there on these OR where on the card (front or back, right or left) that you make the differentiation between the 2. I had a look at my set and doubles and struggled to find any difference. What also made it difficult was the dark shading on the right of the card compared with light on the left

no ideas on the numbers - hardly any. If you look at the front the background is light grey not white. you will only notice in a side by side comparison but its there

last years champions commons had different shades of colours on the back of them, mostly the darker colours like cowboys.
but his cards, what a joke. should really report him for fraud and stupidity!!!
i would never buy off him, but i love going through his negative feedback, if you havent, you should, its a good laugh!!!

There are 2 type of cards in 2001. The difference being one card is grey & the other creamy white (which is most common) The reason for this is they used 2 types of cardboard when cards were produced. It is very easy to see the difference when cards are in a pile & you look at them side on. I got all of mine out of the Newsagents boxes I open last year that I bought in a bulk deal off an old trader. I opened 12 boxes & got 6 full sets & a heap of team sets & a heap of loose commons. I also know of a trader in QLD who sells complete grey sets for $100 each.

Im interested in a Sharks team set in the grey if you can pm me a price.

allan4vvd is the seller in brisbane. Remember the 100$ on his list. Out of seven boxes i didn't come any where near a set. about half and a 1/4 doubles. Well done george as they are collectable as you know. George did your 12 boxes all have box cards. some of mine only the reorder slip. I do like the 2001 base set and the hand signatures have got some nice prices.

G'day Steven, If you ask Ivan nicely he will get you a complete set of base cards(that are all grey) from allan for $95 to $100 per common set.
All my boxes were Newsagent returned stock as they didn't have the box cards.(the box card were in the hobby boxes). I actually was very luck with the Signature redemption cards I got 3 of them 2x Andrew Johns & 1xFittler. I also got some good future force redemptions as well- 2 Brett Hodges & 2x Mark Gasnier & 2x Willy Mason & someothers I can't remember them all But they were mainly the better ones.

Im guessing you got those from Allan too! Does he have any left??

What's you theory on that Tupou being so hard to find???

Yes I got all he had left. Sorry Owen none left. The only logical thing I can think of is that when they came out back in 2005 that kids that got the redemptions in their packets didn't relise what they had & just threw them away. I have checked with select & even though they won't give me the exact number of cards unredeemed they will say about 50% of all 3 Signature cards still unredeemed. A quick calculation based on the odds
at which wangs book states 25 boxes per Signature multiplied by 150 =3750 boxes still out there.Highly unlikely anyone is sitting on that many.
So the mystery will remain unsolved.

Just wait till 8088edge starts selling them without redemptions.
Kids not knowing what they had could account for some but 50%?
Maybe Wangy is sitting on them.

Steve from 8808edge sold me his last 4 boxes out his last case & swore that the redemption hadn't been pulled yet- But he lied I got nothing!!!

As for Wang I asked him & hes got no boxes left. So even at 50% 1875 unopened boxes out there I DON'T THINK SO.
