I would not simply suggest it was an employee, but anyone in the public could have easily done it, as we know there are a lot of scammers out there, and as suggested prior, there could be a few can of worms ready to be opened. It is possible all it takes is one employee to find the secret stash use the stamper they have there and boom you have extra cards.
It would not be the first it has happened
That is a good point but it would be hard to number something that is all ready numbered, as they would have renumber the card that is already stamped.I would not simply suggest it was an employee, but anyone in the public could have easily done it, as we know there are a lot of scammers out there, and as suggested prior, there could be a few can of worms ready to be opened.

The other possibility is someone has fully faked the cards to look exactly like the originals which would be no small feat and then stamp them.
I would say it could possibly be a inside job.
This has answered a lot of my questions and basically has answered every thing.I spoke to the owner of the Toovey card & he told me Grant had contacted him & told him his card is legit because it came-out of a packet & the ones that are all No13 have been re-stamped by somebody.. He then told him that there was 20 sets produced Unnumbered 15 sets went to each player & 2 sets to the NRL & the other 3 they held in-case they had to replace damaged cards..
As for the numbering it is not done by Select they send them away to be specially done by a professional. This makes sense as we all remember the gold league leaders from 2012 Dynasty that we sent back to Select & they had them redone which took up to 3 to 5 weeks
to get back as Select sent them down to Melbourne in batches to be re-stamped.
So far we are waiting for don to answer. He could have lost a packet if he has numbered themWhoever numbered them (For whatever reason) is an arse....
They'd have been worth more un-numbered!! IMO
Yes it does make sense, i totally agreeThis has answered a lot of my questions and basically has answered every thing.
One of the players could have given or sold a set to friend/family member then sold them on again.
Or some one at NRL could have done the same, then who ever received the cards got them stamped claimed they were legit and sold them.
Makes sense to me.
I know i have a lot of select signatures some pulled from packets and some bought from ebay card shows and so on.Yes it does make sense, i totally agree
So we really never know how many cards of anything are out there, until something goes wrong, which is a real slight on the industry.
were given to players and then they past them in to family or fans 10 each were given !Is this situation why the recent top prospects had "player" written on them?
