As the mighty "Praying Mantis" (eels player for the spectators) slays the mighty dragon at $19.50, the dust settled and village life returned to normal.

Nearly dropped my XXXX laughing.....and it's had 3 offers...the ebay name is the catch and it's a first sell! might list mine at 650 and underlay him. LOL

I'd probably say this listing violates Ebay listing policy....on several fronts.

1) Sellers are not permitted to cancel bids and end listings early in order to avoid selling an item that did not meet the desired sale price,

I understand that in the AU auctions you can't set a reserve price excepts on cars, so in effect EWs starting price should be his reserve............ but then the fees are higher.........

So EW to conform to Ebays listing rules should just cancel bids and remove the auction upto 12 hours before it ends if he is unhappy with the way it is going stating item no longer for sale, although personally I would question the ethics of selling like this.

Ross

For the record on this one he had 4 different bids on the item and withdrew them for sale about 3 days before it finished. I guess Mr Ebay is happy he still got his fee's.

Well actually most likely Mr Ebay didn't get any fees, that is pretty much the whole point of these type of dodgy listings. I'm not a regular seller but I believe you get 15 free auctions a month (insertion fee+gallery picture) if you list at 0.01 -0.99, then if you close the auction early , hey presto no selling fees.

If the seller listed it at the actual price they were after, then they would have been charged $2.50, some people will do anything to save a $$.
