Cos Kobe is a selfish player/person who demands anyone who plays with him to work around him, not the other way around, no matter how huge the potential of the player may be. I wouldn't want to play with him after being the man in another team either.
I challenge you to name one player who has done all those things or very similar things for each of @nichj99 examples...
You can start with Kobe if you like, because you say that you understand why players hate him.
For the record, I hated Dwight during free agency because I thought he was childish and unprofessional in his approach, but besides that I kinda liked him. Until I read Nich's listNow I dont like him that much any more.
I rate Boogie Cousins as a better big man than Dwight! He's a good player, apparently the "best" centre in league (I don't actually think this), but he can certainly make some poor decisions.
Sorry but the two best centres in the nba are Davis and Cousins.
I used to be a big Dwight fan up until the free agent antics where he came off as really douchey. Since then he hasn't done a lot to redeem himself in my eyes. As a player tho he is great to watch & a genetic freak.
Dan Fegan is Dwight Howard's agent. Fegan did not want Howard signing with Houston, in fact he tried to convince him to sign with Dallas as Fegan is chummy with Mark Cuban. Part of the demands Fegan set to allow Howard to sign there was to let Chandler Parsons out of his contract early, and in turn gave Cuban the first opportunity to woo him as a free agent for an earlier than expected pay day. The Rockets agreed, with the intention to match any offer on Parsons - however they felt the price tag was more than what he was worth.
So in summary, Houston got Howard but lost Parsons because of Fegan's need to keep his "friends" happy.
I do think Fegan is a very good agent, and feel that he was always trying to play the "what did Dwight just say?" game.
Well, it gets more interesting:
Parsons sacked his previous agent a week before Howard became a free agent, signed with Fegan and then called and texted Howard every day to lobby and convince him to sign with Houston. Apparently, Fegan used Parsons contract status as leverage - promising him an early pay day once it became known that Houston was the preferred destination from Howard, there for able to offer Parsons to the Mavericks in return for them not getting Howard.
Makes you think how much is going on behind closed doors we don't hear about, and how much pull agents have within each organization!
Hey all,
Im a huge fan of Dwight, have been following him through all his moves.
Seems a genuinely nice guy, with some personality which is rare in the modern sports person.
My question is, why is he hated by so many? Fans, Players etc?
I get Kobe, but with Durant apparently having a crack at him also....
I dont get the hate?
Ps anyone selling any of his sig cards pm me
