drob50's D Rob RC Quest - FIRST RESULTS IN!!!

My man in NYC just received and busted the 2 'sample' boxes which arrived today.

In each box, there was 2 Robinson RC's. 2 of them had pretty poor centering left to right, 1 of them had pretty average top to bottom centering and 1 of them looks to be a bee's penis away from dead center :kick:

This one is getting submitted NOW!!!

Not getting too excited AT ALL, because I have seen a few around that had 3 good grades but only got a 7 for surface.

Even if we get a 9 or 9.5 on this one, it is a cracker of a start!!

WOW! This just keeps getting better!!

Mr NYC (kept anonymous for no reason at all ) just found out that BGS have decided to open a grading office in New York City! So this would make it easier AND CHEAPER to submit as he can deliver and pick up!! But to make it even sweeter, the office is only 20 blocks from his apartment!!

Also, he has been meaning to submit some of his cards for grading, so we are going to put them together and save some $$$'s!!

BTW.... here is a scan of the RC's from these boxes!

These are the 2 'worst centered ones':

This one has good left to right but not so great top to bottom:

And this one is the best of the 4 with good centering top/bottom and left/right!

Would love to hear some opinions on what you think the centering would grade?? I am thinking 9 at least!

It looks to me like the one above it has better left/right, but I wear glasses, and they're not that good, lol.

Seriously hope it grades good tho, one hell of a mission!!!

Nah, it's not you glasses! Your are spot on! I think the top one has near perfect left/tight, but only and 8.5-9 max on the top bottom.
The bottom one is near perfect top/bottom, but maybe a 9-9.5 left/right (I hope)

I will be grading both of them anyway, more so to help me learn what to look for in the future!!

Thanks mate!

Yeah that's a good idea. Spend a couple bob to see HOW they grade them. You should scan them both together, and make notes of what you think is wrong with them, and then see how they come back.

Hopefully you can tell the differences in them when they return.

Damn, even I'm, getting excited for ya!! lol.

I agree on both counts, both are just off (not by much tho), but it will be great to see what they come back at. What is the plan for the "leftovers" that you have already pulled? Wouldn't mind another DRob RC for the collection. Possibly even the lower graded of the two perhaps;)

There are a few people that have shown interest in a nicely graded D Rob, so i will look back through these threads and let everyone what I have and when!! ;)

Good start mate...... can't wait to see what the first ones come back as! :D

Mr NYC (kept anonymous for no reason at all ) just found out that BGS have decided to open a grading office in New York City!

Awesome! Now they can lose cards in two places!!

From what I gather it is a group of collectors who decided they could grade cards that make those grades, so they aren't taken as seriously as BGS.

In saying that, I think it is worth buying a couple and seeing how they grade with BGS!

Thanks mate

BCCG is beckett...it stands for Beckett Collectors Club Grading. they dont do the four categories (surface, centering corners, edges) dont have the half point grading scale it is a more simplified grading scale that just does full numbers only none of the .5 bullcrap that you see. these are legitimate grades by beckett just not the full service under the huble telescope like BGS is more for older cards and collectors who want authentication. they do them at a lot shows.....id be trying to find BCCG's and busting them and re-grading them.

Id be interested in taking a descent 1 off your hands also, good luck finding your 10.

That is 1 card I've never been able to find a good 1 of also, have a big DRob collection mostly from the early 90's but most of my cards have more sentimental value than $$$ value.
