Daniher to quit Melbourne

he has been a great servant for the demons over 10 years, been a great leader and been a great face in the media but it's because of the players ND's reign is about to end.
I personally say we take a punt and sign up Voss as Coach and McLean as coach. Remember he is a champion of the game who will not have any half ass players on his team which is something we have been known to have over the past decade. Voss will keep no pets under him and he is a great knowledge of the game and not to mention he captained possibly the greatest side in AFL history to three preimerships.

Look at it this way, one way or another Voss will be coaching. Melbourne can NOW start looking for head coachs so they are the frontrunners, but Pagan, Lyon and Connolly wont have their jobs by the end of the year. Voss is a touch agnorant and SURE of himself in the fact he doesnt need an apprenticeship first and i agree with him. He has been involved in the game for a long time and tasted success and been under Matthews who with Barrassi are 2 of the best players to ever play AFL football. Matthews came straight in so why not Voss.

I think today he said if the Melbourne Job came to him he would take it with both hands.

ND will be coaching again though mark my words and he should because he is a fantastic coach but didnt have the cattle to get him across the line.
My only criticism which has led to him resigning, is he couldnt get the best out of the players and didnt change it up when things were going bad.

A new face in Melbourne is going to do the world of good.


I wouldnt mind: Voss, Harvey, McKenna or Mark Williams even.

About time he left. The writing was on the wall at the end of last season IMO. In that elimination final I think it was St Kilda vs Melbourne if Melbourne didn't win that game I reckon he would have been gone then and there. I actually remember saying that both coaches should have been sacked lol.

Melbourne really need to cleanout some players. Yze's had it, Neitz is past his best, same goes for Bizzell, One of Daniher's favs Nathan Brown will be gone, Godfrey might be safe now. If Melbourne had of gotten rid of Yze last year they would have got something decent for him, but because they kept him they will get nothing.

I hope whatever happens that Melbourne improve, so that purplegoth stops whinging.

daniher achieved all he could with a dud list.. feel sorry for him, though there's probably some agreement next year to see him back at windy hill as head coach (hopefully) if it's not harvey

well update:
He is going to coach his last match for the Melbourne Football Club tomorrow night. Its quite sad that it will be the last time i see Danners in the Dee's box but its for the best. Hope we can give him the sendoff he deserves. Mark Riley will be the caretaker for the remainder of the season.

he's been one of our assistant coach for a while. Not many people would of heard of him, their is a story on him on the AFL site.
He wont get the 3-5 year job but he will still be in that box next to the guy that does though.
GL to him but this week its all about Danners so Riley can sit in the back corner. He deserves a good send off, 10 years he has coached the dees and he also is the founder and president of the coaches association to my best knowledge.

yer well it made sense for him to leave after this week because of the symmetry with the Dons and more importantly we can begin the process without having any distractions.

matty are you calling for Lyon's head? He is shocking at his post match interviews lol
I think the saints should also go for a new coach, they did the right thing getting rid of Thomas and Lyon hasnt worked out so i think they should also start looking because their are a few experienced assistants out there.

Riley Coached Claremont in WA to a couple of premierships.

Also means one lucky punter is gonna be very happy. Some guy created I think it was a sportsbet account deposited $2000 and put it all on Daniher at about $3.25 to go before the end of the year.... easy money it seems LOL

lol amazing isnt it. He had it coming though 0-9 the pressure was on and not to mention it was the last year of his contract. The players are to blame for the piece of crap showing last Friday night but knowing the Dees they will come out and play a blinder and than crawl back into playing half hearted after this week.
Shame Yze wont be able to play in his last match as coach but it was ND's stupid decision to play him over Newton last week that has resulted in his hernia injury.
