oh I see. thanks for that mate. didn't know how it works and their site doesn't actually state the terms and conditions to the cards sent to the mailbox or I haven't found any at least. haha tough lesson.
So I guess it's much cheaper to not use the COMC mailbox service as I would end up spending more on shipping. So i've bought say 10 cards and I could have them shipped to Australia for $7 but in being an uninformed user, I decided to try COMC mailbox and ended up paying $3 for the seller to post to COMC and in addition I have to pay COMC at least an additional $12.50 ($1 processing fee + $0.25 shipping and handling fee, $0.45 for the ones with toploaders already on) to process the 10 cards I bought.
So in all, I would end up paying $15.50 for those 10 cards to be shipped to Australia instead of the original $7.
Wished I had more information regarding this service as somehow I don't see an indication of the true nature of the COMC mailbox service such as the $3 flat postage doesn't apply and the additional shipping and handling fees.
Could anyone possibly direct me to COMC's terms and conditions that states all this so that I guess I could reconcile that i was an uninformed user who found the COMC mailbox service too enticing.
Pardon my rant but I believe COMC is a great site but may I ask around on why someone would use the COMC mailbox service?
just wonder if I could make a case on consumer protection here as I believe consumers should have access to such an important piece of information (preferably through the COMC mailbox page). at this point of time, I find that the COMC mailbox page is very misleading. Safe to say that i am going to stop using COMC's services though I trust that they are a great bunch of people.
If I could put up a suggestion to COMC, it would be that they put up every cost that will be charged to a customer who is using COMC mailbox and how this service isn't eligible for the $3 flat postage rate on http://www.comc.com/mailbox.aspx.
cheers.
Yeh, I generally plan for $1.45 per card. $1 processing + 0.45c top loader charge.
I didnt realize there was ANOTHER charge of 0.25c shipping though...
same here.... after finding these 'hidden fees' i was upset initially, but it is still cheaper than sending individually from ebay etc...Yeh, I generally plan for $1.45 per card. $1 processing + 0.45c top loader charge.
I didnt realize there was ANOTHER charge of 0.25c shipping though...
I'm loving it!!
I get prob 90% of my ebay buys sent to comc even if the seller ships to aus. Buying cards for $5-$20 that the seller uses the global shipping program(HAHAHA WHAT A JOKE) I get sent to comc for free to $3 max. Even beats the $5-$7 charge when they ship first class international.
With all the bulls*** claims and no seller protection for us Aussies when shipping internationally unless you make them pay $20 plus for registered and sig, your cards don't sell... I've had about 300 cards processed and another 500 on they way!!!
Keep up the good work comc
#f***ebay
Slim
Yep read all the fine print, I reckon the time I'd save listing on ebay as well as fees, I'm still in frontNice work dude, glad you're enjoying it. Just remember COMC charge 20% on any sales unless you reinvest it into the COMC market then you don't lose a cent
COMC down for everyone? "service unavailable" message coming up
