COMC Mailbox Thread

I cant find where the policy is for the fees for sending cards from comc to you that have come via their mailbox either. I was first shocked that the priority @ $7.99 was not available for $7.99, it was $34.XX and the standard option went up to $19.XX.
If someone could post a link for these fees it would be great

well for the $7.99 option, I can understand if it goes up to $17.99 (for international orders) but yeah just confused and shocked

@Moe@COMC can you point us in the right direction?

COMC mailbox is great. It opens a world of cards that I otherwise couldn't affording shipping from America (other countries, direct is cheaper!). Instead if me paying anywhere from $5 - $20 international postage for each card I purchase, I ship to COMC and cop the $1.00 of fees. I ship monthly or bi-monthly, depends on how quick it fills (current one has around 35 items, PLUS approx a further 20 purchased on the site and it costs me a total of $20 to ship 55 cards to myself. Pretty big saving!)

oh I see. thanks for that mate. didn't know how it works and their site doesn't actually state the terms and conditions to the cards sent to the mailbox or I haven't found any at least. haha tough lesson.

So I guess it's much cheaper to not use the COMC mailbox service as I would end up spending more on shipping. So i've bought say 10 cards and I could have them shipped to Australia for $7 but in being an uninformed user, I decided to try COMC mailbox and ended up paying $3 for the seller to post to COMC and in addition I have to pay COMC at least an additional $12.50 ($1 processing fee + $0.25 shipping and handling fee, $0.45 for the ones with toploaders already on) to process the 10 cards I bought.

So in all, I would end up paying $15.50 for those 10 cards to be shipped to Australia instead of the original $7.

Wished I had more information regarding this service as somehow I don't see an indication of the true nature of the COMC mailbox service such as the $3 flat postage doesn't apply and the additional shipping and handling fees.

Could anyone possibly direct me to COMC's terms and conditions that states all this so that I guess I could reconcile that i was an uninformed user who found the COMC mailbox service too enticing.

Pardon my rant but I believe COMC is a great site but may I ask around on why someone would use the COMC mailbox service?

just wonder if I could make a case on consumer protection here as I believe consumers should have access to such an important piece of information (preferably through the COMC mailbox page). at this point of time, I find that the COMC mailbox page is very misleading. Safe to say that i am going to stop using COMC's services though I trust that they are a great bunch of people.

If I could put up a suggestion to COMC, it would be that they put up every cost that will be charged to a customer who is using COMC mailbox and how this service isn't eligible for the $3 flat postage rate on http://www.comc.com/mailbox.aspx.

cheers.

Should have just sent them to Australia in the first place if you bought 10 cards from one seller who was only charging $7

and with majority of the sellers in the us not shipping internationally it's our only reliable option of obtaining some cards we would never be able to get our hands on

Used to pay a year ago $35 postage to oz for a $10 card sometimes! not anymore

Hi all; The COMC Mailbox was set up so our international users could get access to cards from third party sellers who wouldn't/couldn't ship outside the continental Unites States. Some of our users were having cards shipped to COMC so they could consign them on the website, but the majority of them are buying cards from sellers on eBay or from group breaks, having them shipped to us via the mailbox, to then turn around and ship them out internationally.

One of the benefits to using the mailbox is that you can store your cards here until you're ready to make one shipment, rather than a series of smaller shipments.

And, every card that gets shipped has a $0.25 S&H fee - when you buy cards on the website, that fee may or may not be included with the price of the card, depending on your Buying Mode setting - this is viewable via the Profile/Options page.

This fee is also seen when you ship your own cards from the website, primarily because we still have to do the same things with the cards, as if they were purchased - i.e., pull them from the warehouse, prepare them for shipping, etc, etc...

Anyways, if you have any other questions - please feel free to drop me a line. Thanks!

Yeh, I generally plan for $1.45 per card. $1 processing + 0.45c top loader charge.

I didnt realize there was ANOTHER charge of 0.25c shipping though...

same here.... after finding these 'hidden fees' i was upset initially, but it is still cheaper than sending individually from ebay etc...
i have around 60 cards at comc atm. half were purchased via comc and other half mailboxed. the 30 cards that were sent there via mailbox include the $1 fee + posting it there from the bay (usually $2 - $3) + top loader .20c plus packing fee .25c. total of around $3.5 - $4.5 each from ebay to comc to my house. If i was to ship individually from the US id be up for and extra minimum $3 each (@ $7 inter. post form US) which is the cheapest i think. Which would be nearly $100 extra.
But, if you are buying a bundle of cards say 5+ off 1 seller then it would be appropriate to just send from US to AUS.
Since i chase obscure and hard to find cards it is rare to do multiple deals with one seller hence why comc works for me.
Comc is a business like ebay at the end of the day. Ebays fees dont reflect on their customer support, its trash and if youve ever had a problem with ebay you'll know how un helpful their call center is. Comc (especially Moe) are fantastic at helping their users resolve any issues and always reply quickly so paying for their service is like a contribution for their service.

We praise you Moe! Cheers for you prompt services and kindness!

regards

I'm loving it!!

I get prob 90% of my ebay buys sent to comc even if the seller ships to aus. Buying cards for $5-$20 that the seller uses the global shipping program(HAHAHA WHAT A JOKE) I get sent to comc for free to $3 max. Even beats the $5-$7 charge when they ship first class international.

With all the bullshit claims and no seller protection for us Aussies when shipping internationally unless you make them pay $20 plus for registered and sig, your cards don't sell... I've had about 300 cards processed and another 500 on they way!!!

Keep up the good work comc =D>

#fuckebay

Nice work dude, glad you're enjoying it. Just remember COMC charge 20% on any sales unless you reinvest it into the COMC market then you don't lose a cent
