nice grades on such old school cards, and thanks for telling us about the off center when it comes to grading old cards, cause i was surprised when it got a grade of 9 when the centering was off.
 
yeah OK they're nice old cards and all.....but what I want to know is where and how the hell do you pick us 1961 Russell for $15???? (And if you get another I'll pay you double!!)

Yahoo auctions are your friend. As long as you are willing to pay with US cash or a money order and mostly ship to a mate in the US you can get REAL bargains as I've demonstrated :rolleyes:

Saved me a packet on a card I needed and paid off BIG time now. :D

Does this new Grade give you all 3 Russell's slabbed?
 
Nah I sold one and bought a new lounge suite from Domayne :-D Made a tough choice and now I have one more card on the wantlist. Still that makes it only five cards.

I'll get it again SGC slabbed in the new year a lot cheaper than the price I got for it ;-)

The Russell RC is still here and I get buried with that one!
 
Nice one chad. Are these old cards very expensive to purchase. I wouldn't mind a few of them as they are part of the history of basektball

It all depends on the condition. Some raw are cheap but psa 5 and over are exy. I'm dropping about $200-$500US+ on some of the older stuff I want in the condition I want. The hard part is finding them.

Even some raw goudeys still go for around the $275US mark but some sneak thru cheaper. Vintage is condition sensitive and that fluctuates any price.

What may be the same card can go for $50 raw and $1000US graded. Some of the guys can vouch its not cheap collecting vintage but well worth the time and money in the long run.
 
Some very nice cards there Chad, thanks for sharing them with us by proxy (thanks Hill33). Nice to see some of the older cards that you dont see very often, a completely different side to the hobby that ive had very little exposure to, but are very important to today, as seen by the imitation 1952 style and the fleer set from a few years back in the same style as the Russell card.
 
A bit of knocking on a carpeted floor and bit of patience Dream and you can pretty much get them centered where you want them. Being in sleeves they stay put once in the box/stand/cabinet etc etc.

The BEST part is they are UV coated now!

Next submission will include more vintage of course and PSA/DNA for autos of Reggie Lewis, Kevin McHale, autoed vintage :-D
