cards coming from smoke environments ?

hey everyones i bought a card off ebay....

i got it today as i used to be a smoker, when i ripped the tab on the bubble mailer it was the strongest cigar smell ive ever smelt :O
i thought maybe it was just the inside of the envelope... but when i got the card out it too had the same smell....

when i used to smoke i made sure i washed my hands 10+ times and never smoked inside the house...

my question has anyone else received anything like this ?

A few months back I had three signature redemptions arrive which reeked of smoke!
All you need to do is take the card out of it's penny sleeve and place it outside.
The fresh air completely rids the card of any smoke at all. The cards I received were BAD! I could even smell it through the envelope.
Just make sure you turn the card over a few times and it should be good after around a week or so.

I'd leave appropriate feedback though, its not what you paid for - perhaps not a neg or neutral, but definitely warn others of the smoke smell.
"Straight from the packet" implies mint condition, although I'm pretty sure Select don't package their cards with added smoke..

yeah thats a brilliant idea i thought of doing something like that as i only bought it to trade so ill do that !!! i have had some were the outside package does smell like smoke but the cards are in toploaders so they were good but still my partner laughed when i smelt the card thought i had some bad addiction to cardboard

Personally I've had this happen a couple of times usually from Hong Kong. I won't buy from them again as it deters from the card. Nothing worse being a non smoker and have nice cards smelling like shit.

I've done the same as Nick a couple of times too but why should you have to.
