Card Valuation Thread by the Cricket Card Mafia

Hi I have the Allan Border Hologram 1994-1995 ACB Futera Cricket card and were thinking of getting this signed on the back. Would this card be better not signed.

Sorry to let you know but the signature would be the only value on that card.
One forum member just bought 100 of these at $1.50 each
i have a dozen, while a border Signature is valuable it would not be worth any more on the Hologram!
Remember my opinion only

Thanks for getting back so quick mamo. Would this be the same deal with the 2008-9 Select & ACB promo card for Allan Border.

I am gutted that Futera stuffed up the release of the Border hologram - it is just about my favourite card, I love the design and despite the criticism I think the card came out really well in the end.....but they seem to be available in record numbers through a UK seller, and therefore their value has plummeted!

I remember back in 94/95 when they were released they were selling for $150-200!! Oh how i wish i could jump in my Delorean and take the 180 I have back with me!!

I was lucky to have sold one for $45 a week before a local seller started flooding it for under $10.

I was lucky to but 100 for 1 pound, a shame really.

How much is a sample Border hologram worth?

How much is a sample Border hologram worth?

Haven't seen one appear in the marketplace for a long time. I bought one for about $15-20 probably 6 or 7 years ago. Given there are only 200 hologram samples it should be worth far more than the numbered version.

Past sins come back to bite me. I have had a philosophical change of view. There was a time when I regarded both base and insert cards the same and sent both TTM to be signed. Now that I am seriously collecting inserts they will stay naked if they are numbered. Unsigned elite XI cards do sell quite well for an issue of 5000. I have a signed set except for Warne as well as an unsigned set. I guess in the end it comes down to the eye of the beholder.

i think the importnant thing with valuing signed cards is to think about who the market is. a signed card should be worth more to the general public as most people would prefer to purchase signed memorabilia than unsigned memorabilia, but a pure collector would probably pay more for the clean version. in the end there are more general memorabilia collectors so teh value of a signed card is probably more. i have the brian lara/ shane warne bat2ball card signed by both players and i would think that would be worth far more than the unsigned version

Around the $130-150 mark I'd say mate....although there are 450 of them they don't seem to pop up as often as they should.

Hard to believe they are 15 years old now!! The 3 sigs are a great looking set.

Hey All.

I was after a rough estimate of the value of the 7 Players Edition cards from the 1996 Futera Decider series.

Since I have got back into collecting, I have never seen any come up for sale aside from at Cardzone, and I was wondering if their $35-45 each was reasonable, or a bit over the top (like MOST of their stuff).

Cheers.

Grant I have never seen them for sale outside of Card Zone - Wang must have got them straight from Futera. Also never heard of one being pulled from a pack.

I bought mine from Card Zone about 10 years ago - think I paid about $150 back then for the set of 7.

Cheers Brad

They are asking $260 for the full set now... Geez I wish I never stopped collecting and could have got some of the cards I'm after 10yrs ago

Anyone bought any of these cards anymore recently??
