Looks like three of them are already up on ebay.

Lockyer starting at 2 grand, with a buy it now of 2400.

Smith starting at 1 grand with a buy it now of 1500.

Farah starting at 1 grand with a buy it now of 1500.

Thought it would be good to keep an eye on if they sell for that price.

1 each of ryan farah gidley and smith all starting at 250 it looks and a buy it now lockyer for $1200 which seems closer to a fair buy it now price.

I've never seen an Andrew Johns from 2004 go for over $1000, and they were numbered to 40.

So the Lockyer at $2000 seems completely ridiculous.

He'd be better off starting at 1 cent and having it go maximum by virtue of being the first up.

The Ryan / Gidley / Smith cards are now up to $676 with a couple od days to run........

To rich for my liking...........

Looking at some recent ones on ebay from the 2004 set.
Andrew Johns sold for 1,358.00 on the 3rd of August 2009
Trent Barrett sold for 833.99 on 10th of August 2009
Steve Price sold for 778.89 on 10th of August 2009
Craig Gower sold for 570.00 on 10th of August 2009
Stephen Kearny sold for 570.00 on 10th of August 2009
Nathan Cayless sold for 560.00 on 10th of August 2009
Simon Woolford sold for 530.00 on 10th of August 2009

I'm guessing they will end up to similar prices to those maybe a little less considering there are 10 more to each of those.

I got a Gidley for $660, which is the cheapest any of that player have gone for so far, but there's a few up now which are starting round $100 or even 1 cent, so I think when those auctions finish we'll see what a decent price is to pay for them.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of them finished around $600-650 ... the quality of players in this set is probably between Steve Price and Craig Gower, when comparing to the 2004 prices you've got above. I don't think the difference between 40 cards and 50 cards will make too much difference to the price, they'll still be very difficult to find in a few years time.

I sold a Johnathan Thurston within half an hour of listing it for $900 Buy it now on Ebay and on the same day one sold at Auction on Ebay for $699

Theres just so much hype around captains sigs atm that even the 2004 prices have been boosted lately. Ive seen the Kearney from 2004 sell for just over $300. I think most will go down (especially Ryan, however there are big spending Dogs collectors around) I think that $500 will be the going rate on most with Ryan around $400 and Lockyer $750-$850.
My advice would be-Sell now, buy later

The advantage for the Ryan card is that there are the Bulldogs fans you mention, plus Bulldogs are my pick to win this year. If they do, it will boost the value of the card, I'd imagine.

Never really thought the Knights were much hope this year, even when they were in the top four, because it's such a young side and they don't have the big game experience. If they can play a couple of finals games this year though, I think they're looking very good for next year! Of course, who knows how this Stone bloke is going to go as coach, though!

So according to the emails from Select, these should have been started to be getting sent out today. How many are waiting on them? And when they arrive, be interested to see what numbers everyone gets!

I hope they are on the way out now... but I just checked my registered post number and there's no record in the system yet (which means it's not in the post).

As soon as ours arrive I'll be posting pictures. Fingers crossed for low numbers!

Ian

Has anybody seen a design for the Gidley card yet? I could have sworn I saw a small one somewhere, but can't find it again.

Maybe I was dreaming ...

He was wearing the home jersey on it though, not the away jersey, as he is on the redemption. That's the main thing I'm wondering ... the Knights away jersey suuuucks! Hope it's the home one on the card!

I am away for a week for work but hope to see a nice numbered Lockyer when I get home. :v:

Cheers
Ross

Yer...I'm waiting on a Gidley. Posted it out on the Monday morning after the Friday release day so unless Select butcher the in/out process it should be reasonably low numbered.
