Bulls v Heat 2011 Playoffs Eastern Final Thread **SPOILERS INSIDE**

See this is where you misunderstand me. My point is we have not struggled offensively in terms of opportunities. We have actually had more shots than the heat in every game with 10+ more. So the plays we are running are working and exposing your defence to a point. It's just lucky for the heat we haven't been hitting our shots. Shooting is a very fickle beast and can swing very quickly. If we start shooting anywhere near our season average we will take the series simple as that.

I also believe Rose, Noah and Boozer are all still playing with injury which isn't helping our cause.

No, I didn't misunderstand you. I read exactly what you said, about getting shot opportunities and not hitting them, and I said this:

As for the Bulls shooting poorly, yes they are. However I've seen the numbers for the other playoff games. In the two prior series they shot 38%, 39%, 37%, 39% and 41% in 5/11 games from Rounds 1 & 2. In this series they've shot 34% in Game 2 and now 41% in Game 3. That makes it 7/14 games, 50% of the post-season they have shot at best 41%.

So this shooting is plaguing them and has all post-season. Why it's so different to the regular season I'm not sure, but they have consistently shot poorly. They are capable of breaking out of it, but when you shoot as poorly as you did today if not worse for 50% of the games played in the playoffs, you could easily continue to shoot as poorly.

You're exactly right in that shooting is fickle. So if the Bulls are able to start turning it up, good on them. I don't see that happening consistently over the remainder of the series based on the body of work they have put together this post-season, as well as the fact that the Heat are the best defensive team they have played up to this point.

This video is for those who didn't catch the game. LeBron absolutely ate Korver on this and1. I felt sorry for Korver, especially on the replay seeing him back-pedaling off balance to avoid getting bowled over by LeBron. He had no chance.

I will premise this by saying im not a LeBron or a Miami fan but this series will be over in 5. Bulls, with the exception of a couple games, have been terrible these playoffs. When you have 2 of the best 3 players in the NBA (like Miami does) your always going to win a seven games series. Heat are undefeated at home these playoffs - it will continue on Thursday. Then there will be no coming back from 3-1 down.

Once again its not the Miami Defence causing this its just the Bulls poor shooting of which they are in a slump at the moment.

Well if that's what you think I can't argue with you.

Based on watching the last 2 games, the Heat rotations have been tight. The Bulls have nobody outside of Rose who can create off the dribble from the perimeter, and the Heat have been holding them to their poor offensive numbers. In addition the Heat have lacked offensive in the low-post all season, but have been one of the best interior defensive teams all season. Granted the Bulls have missed a number of open shots at times, but not enough to significantly change their poor shooting %'s.

If that's what you truly believe, good on you. Bring on Game 4. ;)

Well considering they have shot this poorly all playoffs seems to give my arguement more credit than any Miami defence.

That means you are saying that the Heat defense is the same level as the Hawks and Pacers. From a statistical standpoint that would look to be true, but if you watch games clearly you would know that the Heat defense is far superior to that of the Hawks and Pacers.

Like I already said, if you think the Bulls offensive woes are exclusively their own fault, than I can't argue with you. Bring on the next game! :D

Really - top 10?? If you had a draft today surely you would take LeBron 1st. Who are 8 better players than Wade?

It doesn't have to be 8 players, he said TOP 10, not out of the TOP 10.

I'd take LBJ, Rose, DH12, Kobe and Durant and possibly Westbrook (More on pure raw talent) the Wade, but hey thats just my opinion!

As for the rest of the conversation/argument/chatter... I can't even be arsed getting into it like I normally would, I think your both wrong on certain things but you both also have valid points on some things too! I think I'll mainly see this series out via watching, rather then commentating, just CBF'd lately!

Well that's no fun Ian! You're one of the loyalest Bulls fan on the forum. But up to you! ;)

All credit to the Heat. We deserved this one. Our rotations were faster the whole night, we played better defense than the Bulls. Any advantage they had on the bench in Game 1 has been negated with the return of Haslem energizing our second unit. For the Heat to play this level of defense, and do it two games in a row - they deserve all the credit. As for Bosh, he had a blinder. I find it humorous how people are willing to write him off though. They must have forgotten he averaged 24 PPG last season and prior to this season had averaged at LEAST 22 PPG for 5 straight seasons. The guy can score, so if fans want to keep writing him off like he won't do it again, feel free - but you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.

This was my first post in this thread:

I recall being laughed at, and Bulls fans (maybe Celtics fans too) saying I had tunnel vision, biased whatever whatever.

This very scenario has played out 2 games in a row now. Even today neither LeBron or Wade topped 22 points, but Bosh carried the load. The Heat and Bulls have both played stifling defense, but the Heat have more guys that can create their shot. If it continues like this, the Heat are going to take this one in the next few games.

Man Rhys I recall reading other posts by you where you criticized the officiating, either in the Boston series or the Philadelphia series.

The free throw discrepancy in this one was 29 attempts for the Heat, to 21 for the Bulls. Not a massive difference.

What do you expect? Both Wade and LeBron are probably the two best players (with Rose) at getting to the rim and drawing fouls. Bosh attacked the rim and his calls were warranted. The Heat played outstanding defense. I didn't see any "phantom" calls that really stuck out as being non-calls. Majority of calls were right or 50/50 calls.

Get over it. The game was officiated normally as most games are. It's laughable how non-Heat fans always want to blame the refs.

This is the first game of the playoffs Ive seen, back in Aus on holidays. We dont get any games in PNG so I don't recall whinging about refs in any games. As I said, initially, Chicago didnt deserve to win today due their poor offence. Miami played alot better.

Fouls SHOULD have been called.

Both Lebron "blocks" on Boozer, he hit arm. Watch replays, it is there to see, you can't deny that. No Call.
When Noah was going up for a dunk, Bibby jumped and put both arms across his shoulders, knocked the ball out, no call.
Rose on two or three different occasions driving to the hoop, gets three guys jump on him and it's play on.

Soft calls.

Two of Noah's fouls were called because he is Noah. He goes hard at the ball, looks awkward so he gets pinged. The push in the back on Bosh where Bosh flopped like he'd been shot, joke. The first foul called 15 seconds in on Noah, Joke. That wouldnt have been called in an under 15's game.
The Deng call where Lebron flopped like he'd been shot, Joke. Swap the players around and it would have been a blocking foul.
That last call Rose on Chalmers where Rose touched his arm.

No, I dont like Miami, but as Ive also said before its only a matter of time befroe they win it all. It may be this year, it may be next year, it might well be for the next 5 years, but they certainly don't need a hand to win it.

LeBron's blocks I didn't see close-up replays. Did they even televise close-up replays? If they didn't, you must have a ridiculous eye, because there's no way I could've seen close enough to see if it was on arm or not. Looked clean to me.

Rose plays out of control. Some calls he gets, some he doesn't. He forces the issue when there's nothing there half the time. None of them were blatant fouls. 50/50 calls maybe, but I don't remember any where it was clearly a foul and there was no-call.

As for the "soft calls". Noah gets called for stuff because he tends to get chippy and it ruins the game. TBH I can't remember what those fouls were. When there's no close-up replay it's hard to make a case for it either way, so I just go with what the refs say (regardless of whose favor it is in). As for the others, the Deng call wouldn't have been called a block, because it wasn't. Bron closed out on him, Deng did a chicken-wing and it got called. Good acting? Sure. But it happens everyday in the league, and a number of stars are good at selling that - the way you describe it, is as if that never gets called and was only called specially in this game for LeBron.

Anyway I'm not going to argue about the reffing, but that's just my opinion. Didn't you also predict the Heat to be knocked out in the 1st round?

Anyone heard on the status of Asik? I wonder if he'll be right to go on Wednesday. Word on the street is Noah is going to cop a fine for an "anti-gay" slur that he used in the first quarter. Apparently the cameras caught what he said (I could only see him mouthing off, couldn't hear anything on TV), and it's the same thing that Kobe said in the earlier round when he copped a $100K fine.

Just give the ring to Lebron already.

Yeah, good call ....... Lebron needs to fking earn his ring after taking the easy way out.....

Idiotic calls like the one above are half the reason im starting to pull out of a lot of the Playoff discussions... People are just morons sometimes and make spastic statements in an attempt to be able to say "I told you so...."

Really starting to get over this forum is some ways.....

I don't like Lebron. The call is because I don't think anyone's going to beat the Heat this year and everyone will be talking about his first title and not Wade's second.

Yea, well I think IF the Heat get past the Bulls they'll have a SH!T load of trouble getting past the Mavs... Dirk + Kidd in the Finals, and the Mavs will dominate the Final

What's the big deal if he says that? Maybe that's his opinion that the HEAT are going to win the title easy?

Is it just me or are these matches getting boring to watch. Just great defense

I don't mind it if I feel each team has a chance of winning it with a few minutes left, but I feel the Bulls & OKC have just been playing catch-up through four quarters and that is boring.
