Buddy cops 2 weeks for contesting!! crap...

He got four weeks initially, which was a joke, but got off on appeal, I believe.

I don't think you can really accurately compare the two incidents. Maxwell actually ran past the ball to collect the WCE kid. Franklin's incident was in the play.

i guess cause he plays for collingwood its ok

yeh hip and shoulder is part of the game but when it breaks a young kids jaw for no apparent reason then its not good. After the ball went past McGinnity, Maxwell ran up 2 him and bumped him 4 no reason what so ever

Not that I condone the breaking of a young kid's jaw at all, but at some point do people have to take responsibility for themselves? You saw Justin Koschitzke (Hate spelling that name) and his incredibly poor awareness, get hammered by Daniel Giansiracusa a couple of years back. Now I am sorry, but if there are 35 other players on the park, have some ****ing awareness of what's going on around you, and for god's sake, protect yourself!

The young WCE kid... obviously a bit different, as he wouldn't know his ass from his elbow, but still, you are playing a game that (supposedly) involves contact.

I just think physical pressure causes mistakes, turnovers, and goals the other way. Teams that are able to conquer their fear and be hard at the ball regardless of what might be coming the other way deserve to be rewarded for bravery. Idiots who leave themselves open, do not.

Now I will go for a walk and drag my knuckles along the ground for good measure. :D

EDIT - Just saw the Maxwell bump again. Interesting to note the umpire - "Play on!"

it seemed like cuz went to faint a handball and then lost some control of the ball, in which he lowered his head and was blind sighted by buddy.

Buddy made head high contact which is what the problem was and why he was rubbed out. He could of laid the tackle at the hips but elected to go the bump in which Cousins had no idea was coming.

All in the space of one second. Not really enough time to weigh up options carefully and act with the correct "duty of care." Damn, I hate that phrase.

They certainly were very different, you're right, but the tribunal adjudicated on the same principle: the head is sacrosanct. These days, there is no such thing as a "fair bump" if you collect a bloke in the melon.

Elbow tucked, fair bump, the umpire even calls play on, and he gets suspended? Our game really is becoming a joke...We're playing football guys! Sometimes there's going to be incidental contact that accidentally connects a little high.

**** I hate the way football is going these days...

Well in my opinion (not sure if anyone has said this), the height difference made a huge difference, buddy is about 200cm, I dont believe he should of got 2 weeks, thats crap. He is in my supercoach n dreamteam too! Got 140k in bank in dreamteam and 60k in supercoach so it should be all good!
