Black Friday sales

Yeah, got a few boxes coming, mostly for Christmas breaking. Don't think the deals are as good as they used to be on Black Friday, but any saving helps with the low Aussie dollar. Got a Galactic Files 2 box and 2 more JTTFA's. I see Jedi vs Sith is up now (D & A) but not sure if I'll go another box yet...

Congrats Trevor, i'd be interested to see what you pull from your Galactic Files 2 box, i'm chasing various Red/Gold parallels + plates
I picked up : 2 x Galactic Files 2 / 4 x Journey to the Force Awakens / 2 x Marvel : Age of Ultron
Would like to have picked up some stuff off BO, however checkout/International shipping is an issue - cant seem to register an International address

Anyone else have a work around with Intl shipping/checkout with BO site ?

There was a thread on Blowout announcing that they could ship overseas, but you had to email them ahead etc. Sounded too hard, so I've never bothered. It's a pity as they have some decent deals from time to time..

Here's the announcement - http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/...onal-shipping-select-countries-worldwide.html
For a couple of months they offered shipping to Aus/US/Canada but using their shipping estimator prices were ridiculous. I think getting a case of Parks and Rec delivered would be $160US, with 6 boxes being over $100.

On their eBay store they have some cases and boxes available at a reasonable shipping cost (through eBay Global shipping program, so don't buy multiple and expect combined shipping).

On the original topic I didn't see any amazing deals across the board. Was hoping Adventure Time would drop to the US$35 mark but didn't happen with D&A.

Yeah, anytime they have to make you a shipping quote is a bad sign !

I've picked up a bunch of stuff, but it's mostly stuff I'd wanted to buy more off, or hadn't got around to getting. Not too many "Damn that's cheap" type deals!

Think you must have missed it mate as D & A had adventure time for $35 a box yesterday. Sold out now, but if they follow last years pattern, they might release some extra stock as the sale whinds down..

Ah damn. Thanks for the info!

Hi Trevor, i have purchased full case/mixed 12 box cases from BO recently, their case price is very reasonable - infact better than D&A
(they use the same UPS Worldwide saver option - 3-4 days shipping)
Negative = you cant simply checkout + get the shipping rate (you need to communicate with them prior)
Positive = Cheaper~comparable case shipping price than D&A
Positive + = Declared shipping value (multiple case advantages)

BO's - Black Friday Sales - i suspect by this time next year they may have sorted out their Checkout/International shipping so we can all benefit, not just folks with US shipping addresses

If anyone needs any further info, feel free to contact me

I buy most of my stuff from blowout, and have done so for about 3 years now. They are nearly always cheaper than Dave and Adams, and a lot easier to deal with. They will give you the incentives if you've brought the right amount of product, and shipping is nearly exactly the same. Email and ask for Danny, then anytime you see something you want, send him an email asking for a best price dlvd to Australia, and you will nearly always get an even cheaper price.

Good info guys thanks...will have to give them a go. Maybe when the credit card recovers from this latest pounding it's getting !

DA have always looked after me with their "premier pricing" which helps a little and Brad helps me out with freight etc, but they don't seem to have a lot of stuff at times, whereas BO might have it...and BO do seem to have some good deals from time to time..

Anyway, have bought a bunch of BF stuff and have preorders in for a case of Agents of Shield 2 and some boxes of The Force Awakens S1... this hobby is more an addiction than anything else!

Haven't bought anything in aaaaaaaaaaaages.

And as a result my bank account is looking healthier :D

So of course now I'm apprehensive about ordering anything, and none of these deals are really winning me over. (except NASCAR Showcase)

Yeah, that's a nice price for Showcase, but I've already had my fill I think...pity there's no new NASCAR stuff to chase! I've been buying non sport mostly and a smattering of 2015 NFL boxes to get some base stuff - pretty much all to break at Xmas. Like you say the deals aren't fantastic, but they do at least help compensate for the poor Aussie dollar conversion at the moment!

Looks like the sales ended with a bit of a whimper...not much added in the last day...for those interested D & A have started their cyber Monday sale early and have restocked some of the sold out items...

So how did everyone go ?

I got some things I wanted some more of at a good price, and bought a few extra boxes of stuff for Xmas breaking. All in all, pretty happy with what I got, but it could probably have been better - would have liked to see some others like Cryptozoic - The Hobbit DOS, some more non-movie Marvel and maybe even some more Benchwarmer stuff - D & A only listed the one BW release which sold out fast.

Steelcity had more BW and a few other interesting ones, but probably wouldn't be worth the extra freight to do a stand alone order..

there was a few items at DA I would of liked but with what's happened the last couple of week $$ are so tight leading into Christmas I just had let all the deals pass, so I will have to live through everyone else over the Christmas break!! look forward to seeing everyones breaks!!

I ended up cracking to the pressure, got 2 boxes of star wars jedi vs sith, journey to the force awakens and game of thrones season 4! fingers crossed I get some goodies!! cant wait to see all of the box breaks on here!

How do you guys go with getting your money back on the non-sport stuff, ive found with pretty much everything I break I struggle to get value back, end up thinking its better just to buy the individual cards, but the whole reason i like the hobby is busting boxes/cases so just buying individual cards doesn't do it for me...
Haven't picked up anything in a while because of this, but I used to break a lot of benchwarmer stuff I just really can't see the value in it anymore.

Don't think anyone ever really gets their money back on sports or non-sport these days, unless you hit a monster card. That being said, I feel there's more value in non-sport than sports these days. Non-sport autos usually have a higher return for even the more common auto's - Usually $15 or higher, whereas some sports (well NFL at least) can have auto's that are worth $3-4 and the average RC auto is about $6 or so. Then add to that the fact that the price on sports boxes is usually higher to begin with...

Personally I find non-sport breaks just to be a bit more fun these days too and there's a bit more of a challenge to complete some of the auto or wardrobe sets. I've bought Benchwarmer in the past and have 3 black friday boxes coming. They're fun to break and the return on them seems to be pretty good. Not exactly getting your money back, but can be close if you get the right cards, especially low numbered stuff. No one seems to really want the base auto's, so they've become practically worthless.

I guess in the end you have to be willing to pay something for that buzz of breaking boxes...
