This saddens me, not because a-holes exist, that's nothing new and never going to change. But because it's soured your hobby experience to the point of leaving it.
If you haven't already I think this story should be posted on every card forum and I sincerely hope you get something back that can replace your cards to whatever degree.
Where are these Australian graders at that were posting around here? From my observations within the hobby over the last year and a half it seems that we need to get some better services here in Australia because the U.S services are leaving too many people burnt.

Wow Steve just read this whole story now and its a mess. Really feel for you mate. One thing I can say is if this has really put you off the hobby, maybe still hold onto your cards and take a 6 month break. I dare say that burning desire for the hobby will return and whilst your experience will not be forgotton you will be all the wiser for it.

Certainly dont leave because of this, sure it's a bad apple, but you know the cause, you know what's happened, and it's only 1 card (very bloody sweet card at that!!).

Ok so after 4 months this is becketts last email, they are giving me money back but still sounds shady to me!!
Basically we have stolen your card and we will contact you to buy it back from us when the dust settles!!!

After battling with our insurance company, the offer they have agreed to give you is $1000. They originally wanted to pay much less then this due to the declared value on the package but I have explained what we have talked about. If for some reason these cards pop up once the claim is paid, you will have the first chance to repurchase the items from us.
I am so sorry about this entire situation. I have never seen anything like this happen and it puts us in a bad place since customers send their cards to us to be preserved, not misplaced. Please let me know what you think or if you have any questions. I plan to get a claim form mailed to you by the end of the week to sign and return to us.
