Besides Cards - what are your other interests

I know we have done a thread on what else we collect (besides cards) so I thought it might interesting to see what other interests / passions members have.

My other interest is fly fishing and in particular fly tying. I fish mostly saltwater but will venture into the fresh for some native species. Fly tying is cathartic and is a difficult art to master. Here are some examples:

My other passions besides cards? TRansformers toys (particularly the new Generations range), Comics (TF, G.I. Joe, Dark tower, Alice Cooper), Writing and music. Have five nice gibson/epiphone sweeties - 1997 Gibson Nighthawk Les Paul Custom (misplated as epiphone), 2010 Gibson SG, 2010 Gibson Flying V, 2010 Epiphone Electric -Accoustic, 2010 Epiphone Casino Viola-Bass.

The last few months I've switched focus from cards to Kidrobot figures. I've got mostly Simpsons & Futurama (pictured) but also have picked up a few of the Adventure Time line.

Ross, I have a Reddington practice rod here that can be used to dapple a couple of small flies at those fish........the fillets would be small though.......lol

Yeah watch that and Tanked now and then.

Fresh water tanks don't really take to much effort or maintenance. It's important to get the right filtration then it's as easy as changing 10% of the water every week or two.

My main interest is Rugby League. I collect mostly items on Brisbane Broncos, State of Origin (QLD), Winfield Cup and Rugby League In General. I also collect things on big cats (Tigers, Lions, Leopards, Mountain Lions, Jaguars). Other smaller collections I have are: Transformer movie items, batman movie items, terminator movie items, the list goes on. I don't collect anything and everything though, picky at what I collect. My biggest collection to date, would have to be my Brisbane Broncos collection. Would love to show you all some pics, but it is all in containers.

my two biggest collections outside of cards are shoes & oasis bootlegs/memorabilia.
i also collect 1st edition books & consoles/games.
i gather lego aswell, but on a much smaller scale...

Too many interests, not enough time. @tak35bne I used to tie flies many moons ago. Agree it's a relaxing hobby and really interesting using all the different materials - feathers, silks, furs etc. One thing I'll always remember was the smell of the supplies and always loved to take a trip into the compleat angler or get a mail order from them. Good memories. Sadly I never found enough time to do much of the actual fishing and when I did it was usually surf fishing, which I also love.

Have two fish tanks, a four foot freshwater that is currently overcrowded with Kribensis and a 6 foot marine tank which I'll probably break down soon as it's getting a bit too expensive to keep going these days...

Over the years though I've had many hobbies and collections, stamps, minerals, fossils and growing cacti to name a few. I think once you have the collecting bug, it's with you for life in some form or another!

My other interests are audio, home and car but been into car stuff way longer, and never cared for the car the stereo was in until earlier this year when I get a car I had loved for years and now it is creeping in as a new obsession!
I am not just about loud obnoxious blasting the neighbourhood down either, really love getting clarity aswell as a nice bass tone! And spend quite a lot of time and money sound deadening and generally have the windows up as I actually installed the system for me not everyone else.

I am really happy with a stealthy look too and tried my hardest to make my doors look as factory as possible while housing some really high end audio components in there.

Dad and I collect 50 cent coins. not the special release $10 or $15+ each ones, but just the regular ones that get released into circulation every couple of years. Attempt to get 100 of each for the sets.... Made slightly easier managing a servo as i see a fair chunk of cash each day

besides cards I have started gold prospecting, bought a so so detector and have found some little nuggets but really want to buy a better machine soon...need to find some better ground to detect as so much of it has been drilled around here...
growing up in Mildura and spending a lot of time by the river camping and fishing and hunting I love all of that also, probably the fishing side of it more so as I don't have my trusty guns anymore!!
and being a 70s child I am a huge star wars fan and collect certain elements of the films that I like...pretty much anything jedi/sith orientated..

I have started taking an interest again in building my own fishing rods. Have two 9 foot Bream / Whiting rods on the go ATM and today I have been playing around with color combinations for the bindings on the single foot guides. It's been just over 20 years since I last build a rod but its slowly coming back.

Some nice colour combos there mate, especially like the metallic red/gold combo.
Used to do a bit of rod building myself a fair while ago, and also used to tie salt water flies (to the point where I used to supply a few Adelaide tackle stores as well as selling via mail order).

Haven't done any of that for a fair while though.

My main collecting focus outside of cards is horse racing memorabilia, with a major interest in limited edition Black Caviar prints - have got 5 L/E prints framed and on the walls, with another couple of dozen waiting to be framed when I have the spare cash!!!

Besides bball, iv been a huge pro wrestling fan since i was 10 years old (1997).. been watching ever since, collect dvds/blurays etc... got over 500 dvds..(would have more but sold my collections a few time) also have met over 50 WWE/WCW/ECW wrestlers over the years, countless autos/photos etc...

I dont share my passion of bball with my family much so sharing the passion for WWE is what i do with my Wife and 11 year old daughter, but will def be hoping my 3month old boy (Jaylen) Named after Jalen Rose! follows in my footsteps and plays basketball!...

Other than hoops and wrestling, i love my music (all types) mainly hip hop/80z 90z music/metal etc... My wife is a big gamer, i just play NBA 2k mainly! she plays and kills at everything.
