anyone been to NBA game??

back in xmas 1991 went to US for family holiday and got to see golden state vs clippers at la sports arena, hence becomng a clipper fan.

also on the same trip saw knicks vs Cavs at madison square garden. My mum choose the hotel to stay in based on it being across the road from madison square garden, based on thinking it was like a botanical gardens...

Thanks Mum!

same trip watched the xmas game (bulls vs someone) in a hotel room during our grand canyon bus tour. and during our trip to disneyland I made the family leave before the disney parade at night, so I could get back to the hotel and watch the lakers vs bulls game on tv!

ahhh the memories!

Awesome thread. I haven't been to the USA yet, but planning on going very soon. I was thinking on planning a trip around the next All-Star weekend in Las Vegas which would be very cool.
Some great stories here guys, wish I was into basketball when the aussie jam sessions were on, that would have been unreal.

Here are some of my pics from the Sydney Olympics. Not the greatest quality......it was all the cameras fault!!!!;)

I'm just a poor auzzy who has never been to the states and never seen a NBA game live. Will be something i do before i die! I reckon the NBA should play pre-season games OS - like in Auz.I think the NBL plays in singapore pre-season. They could even have a hit out with an NBL team while they are over here - i'd like to see that!

I travelled the USA back in 2003 and 2004 and managed to get to 11 NBA games and 2 NCAA games. I saw UNLV play at that was the best atmosphere of all the games. The Sonics were a highlight too, they gave out so much free stuff to the crowd!!
If you are on a budget like I was and you are travelling alone then the best bet is to get the cheap seats (start from $10) and move forward to an empty seat once the game has started. You'll be amazed how far you can go. Just play 'Dumb' if anyone bothers you

just thought i'd throw the question out there as to whether or not anyone has been lucky enough to attend an NBA game??

i have been to the US twice and the second time we stayed in houston for about a month and i went to a Rockets v Warriors game!! it was in january of 2000 and was Francis' rookie season i think. i could tell he was gonna be a pretty good player!! overall it was a good atmosphere.. huge stadium...i think there were about 6000-7000 people at the game. not the most exciting game but pretty fun. the cheerleaders and half time shows etc were good :D

i also was lucky enough to go to a college game too!! Texas A & M v i cant remember, but i do remember the atmosphere...it was huge...college ball is almost just as big if not bigger than the NBA in some places. 12,000 people were at the game and they were all very vocal suppoting there team!! great experience!!

I went to Vegas & LA in 2003, I watched a NHL game in Anaheim but didn't get to a NBA game :( That being said, I am going to Miami in April next year (On the way to watch the Cricket World Cup) so I hope to organise a game with my travel agent :)
