Spelling should not be an issue, usually most spelling mistakes (well me typing) are because of my typing skills. Sometimes I press the wrong key first. so you get letters in the wrong order.

haha I too still type out full words on text messages. I have no idea what half the short text even means. I have to google it to find out haha.

Having a Degree in professional writing and being writer by nature, I also find it frustrating when people can't spell properly - especially on american sites. One of the worst is the trivia locations on second life - more often than not answers and questions are spelt so wrong it's not funny.

What...... Bad spelling and kids never actually listening to what is being said to them (just like my 6 year old)

I personally think bad spelling and grammar has a lot to do with,
-Lazier teachers
-a lot of Children are spoon fed until they are in their 20's

Funny thread and each to their own. Keep spelling bad and when you really want to use correct spelling you wont be able to !!! Dictionary's are not put together with abbreviations in mind or text slang for that matter.

I would love to see some Christmas/birthday cards or Love letters written by bad spellers... I enjoy a good laugh

Every time I see a stupid email/message/post I always think to myself "Your a..." just because I expect them to have typed something exactly like that... but in doing so I seem to be making myself think that it is acceptable! Got to get out of that habit...
