All-Time Test Cricket Draft

Computer simulation sounds great. Is there a program that can do that for us?
Yeah, there is - I've discovered it a while ago and played around with it for a bit. Haven't for a while but from what I remember it worked pretty well and gives you full innings scorecards and bowling figures which I could post here. That way we could also have stats like leading run-scorers and wicket-takers over the tournament!

Happy to run that as well as do a ranking system as well, up to you guys on what you want to do!

according to my head scotty will win as he has 5 of the 11 I had listed in my best XI

2 for Keatoboy, 1 for the other 4

1. Bill Ponsford
2. Arthur Morris
3. Richie Richardson
4. Ian Chappell c
5. Mark Waugh
6. Brendan McCullum
7. Keith Miller
8. AlanDavidson
9. Jeff Thomson
10. Stuart MacGill
11. Andy Roberts
Was tough to choose as I had several players picked who were last round choices for other teams. Lot of fun though and thanks for letting me join in.

interesting that only 1 of those was in my original left over side (miller).

I have had to dig through the archives as most modern players have been chosen

1. V Trumper
2. G Boycott
3. G Headley
4. E Weekes
5. C Walcott
6. M Proctor
7. A Knott
8 W Rhodes
9 J Laker
10 F Trueman
11 G Lohmann

Some great names there mate

Alright, so we'll definitely do the computer simulation. Will need to have a look at the program again to see how it works, I'll do so on the weekend. Was anyone interested in also doing a ranking system? (Just us eight voting might be easiest?)

Hi all,

I am helping Scotty out by organising the teams and statistics for the computer simulation program. Due to the information it requires, I need you all to please post your team lists again, but in bowling order.

Cheers!

Hmm, not sure I've ever tried to list a team in bowling order before! Let's see...

Wasim Akram
Malcolm Marshall
Shaun Pollock
Bill O'Reilly
Sir Garry Sobers
Allan Border (c)
Sir Vivian Richards
Sir Len Hutton
Sunil Gavaskar
Rahul Dravid
Andy Flower (wk)

If Dravid or Flower have to roll their arms over I'll be in some serious trouble!

Thanks @Keatoboy for helping out with this next part, can't wait to see how it all works!

Ray Lindwall
Sir Richard Hadlee
Joel Garner
Derek Underwood
Jacques Kallis
Virender Sehwag
Ken Barrington
Neil Harvey
Graeme Pollock
Sir Jack Hobbs
Ian Healy

I’ve used the old “use the spinner as your second change bowler before your #6 all-rounder” philosophy :-)
