BLOWN8 v Wookiedragon
BLOWN8 won the toss once again and would have hoped for a much-improved showing when choosing to bat again. It was improved, but not by all that much. Steve Waugh showed some fight in scoring 70, but a lack of support around him meant they put up 222 before being bowled out. Imran Khan had a good outing with the bowl, claiming 4/52.
Wookiedragon had the chance to grab the ascendency, and an even batting effort meant they did, but perhaps not to the extent they could have had one batsman made a big score. As it was, Javed Miandad's 71 not out was the top score, but most of the batsmen chipped in to contribute to an 82-run lead after a total of 304. Waqar Younis was the pick of the bowlers with 5/55.
Could BLOWN8 set a competitive total this match? That was the question at the halfway mark but another weak batting performance didn't help their cause. Another innings without a fifty led to a total of just 171, as this time it was Curtly Ambrose's turn to bag some wickets with 5/47.
This left Wookiedragon chasing just 90, and once again BLOWN8's bowlers were left with far too much to do. They could pick up just two of the ten wickets required and Wookiedragon claimed a simple victory that kept him in the top-four race.
