But dogs you still aren't seeing the point. Yeah these first generation-ers may be born here, but they learn their attitude towards all other cultures from somewhere, they learn to disrespect this country from somewhere. If a family/person comes into this country with no documents and lies about where they are from and their own past, then they are entering our country under illegal circumstances and are showing us no respect. that lack of respect gets passed down to their children and then we get shit like the cronulla riots. Take the examples I gave of the two lebanese. the guy i went to school with had respect for this country as did the rest of his family, the one's who lived opposite me had no respect and the younger son turned out to be a criminal.

It all comes down this - how you enter a country, whether it be to live or to visit. If you come showing absolute respect for the country's culture and laws, you will get along fine. If you don't, then you will breed that disrespect into your future generations. all of my ancestors came here as free settlers and have shown nothing but respect for others - I'm a great example of that. I show no prejudice to anyone based on their race, creed, color of skin, sexuality or disability. If I don't like someone, it's because of their actions and that alone. And i will say that.

I'll have to disagree that most bikie gangs are full of lebs. A lot of the big gangs - Hell's Angels, Comancheros, Rebels - are very exclusive and have Aryan's in them. I'll tell you right now, Aryan's will never allow a non-white to be a part of their group. A number of the smaller, newer gangs are full of lebs but they're small fry - the minute they step onto the turf of the bigger gangs - who also have the support of the Italian Mafia - the smaller gangs are dealt with. Trust me, I lived in Sydney for a number of years and saw it happen quite a number of times. and saying it's the younger generation that cause the trouble is rather a generalisation. It's a minority group that cause it - not all of them. And it's their parents who actively encourage it by telling them they are better than the whites, that the whites are nothing but infidels and deserve to be treated as such. The minority. These are also the ones who - even though they are born here - speak with a heavy accent. The one's whose parents assimulated themselves peacefully into our society do not have heavy accents because their parents made a huge effort to learn the language here and encouraged their kids to speak english by not speaking their arabic dialect at home. My Italian Grandmother speaks fluent italian - but it is a second language for her. She grew up speaking english as a first language because her parents made the effort. Technically, I'm a third generation australian-italian and i know very little italian, my father knows even less.

If all immigrants were serious about assimulating themselves peacefully into the australian culture, they would make every effort to learn our ways, our laws and our culture and would pass that down onto their children. But what do we have - exclusive schools where arabic is the only language, entire suburbs where the only store signs you see are in a foreign language with no english subtitles. If you want a good example of true multi-culturalism, go to cabramatta (one of my old haunts). All the stores have signs in vietnamese, chinese, cambodian, loatian, Thai, burmese and arabic - all have english subtitles. When i lived in Auburn, 1 store in every ten had an english sign - the rest were completely in arabic with no english subtitle. and the whites were looked down upon as inferior beings. that is absolute truth from personal experience. I was just lucky that I happened to live in a neighbourhood where the Cassas boys were otherwise, I'd have been jumped that many times it would not have been a joke.

And yet, even now, i can go to cabramatta and feel perfectly safe.

Exactly my thoughts Taffster.

They learn it from somewhere to think of whites as infidels and lower class. They even do it in countries like Malaysia. Muslims have heirarchy, malays next and Indians looked upon as bottom feeders.

All Im stating is facts and events that have happened. Most of my best mates arent white australians so to be called racist is crap I'm a realist.
