I think one of the funnest boxes I've opened is 08\09 SPX, the base is possible the prettiest base Ive seen, and theres plenty of gu hits plus a few autos, price was about 140 when I broke a few a while back, but I'm sure the price has rised thanks to rose's performance like most 08/09 boxes.

Pre-ordered a taste of Gold Standard a while back, watching the release being pushed back, and back, waiting and waiting... and waiting

Cost me $217dlvd for a box, which was about as good a price as I could find at the time. Will posting a break when it comes, so can give more details and scans then.

I'm wondering which boxes/years are best to pull Derrick rose or javale McGee autos/gu, not knowing a great deal about who is with which product and odds or ratios of pulls Inc checklists just looking for something to target when I'm back in the box breaking game in a while to target a pull rather than purchase.
Lmk if I'm wasting time chasing a pull and should just purchase the card I want
Any help would be great

Depends on what quality you want and how much you are willing to spend.

Really don't know if you should box just to chase cards of certain players. Better off buying them right now, especially when prices have dropped due to the lockout :v:

Certified:I busted one box so far, the cards look sharp! the etched metal look should be very popular. Even Better in person.
The price is very resonable I would highly suggest picking some up. My Favorite Panini release yet.

I'm looking for a box to bust, mostly 10/11 Panini, I'm really leaning to Certified or maybe Prestige?? Or even Threads. Any ideas?

from early box breaks i've seen, the new 2010-11 Season Update has been yielding more hits than the 3 GU, 1 auto advertised. people have been getting 4 GUs, 1 auto, sometimes even 6 hits in a box that costs around US$65 on average. might be worthwhile. i'm getting mine in about a week's time, will update you all then.

having said that though, might be hard to get a nice "A lister" auto from there. i saw a Case break of 2010-11 Season Update on another forum, and the autos were mostly rookies or so-so team's players. or the auto could be from the added on prestige / R&S rookies cards that Panini introduced.

Normally i would say the 2 gold standard but with your knack of pulling mj autos its a tough call haha

Yeh this was what I was leaning towards, with ATG if I dont hit an MJ or Lebron, at least Ill have a nice on card auto, but with Gold I might get rubbish..

Not a bad line-up there. Judging by the reviews we've had on the forums, I would ditch either the Ultimates or Golds and put a box of All Time Greats instead. I wonder what others think. Has your order been finalised?

Yeah i was thinking the same with the Ultimate, busted boxes ive seen have been a lil poor, but i wanted it because its ULTIMATE
Order is just sitting in the cart ATM. I will purchase mid next week. Do you think Golds are really that bad?

bumping this thread cos i had a question.
DACardworld's having a sale on 2010-11 Panini Limited. am thinking of getting a box - what has everyone's experiences been like with this product? i wanted to try a mid-level product for less than $100 a box, but don't want heaps of unwanted base lying around after the break.

Very risky, but definitely fun to break.
