why did I end up getting an email notification that this led to a neg?

no mention since i felt the neg itself said what needed to be said.
if i've gone about this wrong please inform me.

i feel admiral will probably lift his game and become a respectable member after this experience, once he receives the information he requires about how we like to trade on this board.

for a second I thought the neg was on me...because my ebay is admiral5071...then I realised Im not the admiral on here...LOL

Nah you are right Proto but I thought it was worth a mention thats all. Sucks the deal went south. This was after the post the other day with terms right. Well he now knows and this wont happen again or future deals just wont happen. Thats what the general consensus was here. Be them rare cards or commons that's disrepectful to the trader.

I think if you received the cards and they weren't damaged then a negative is too harsh.......a neutral woould have done !!! Each to their own I guess

I'm not sure what happened. This deal is so old I really don't remember it, but I don't ever remember failing to package something properly. I would have appreciated it if you contacted me directly before slandering my name here. I haven't been on a lot recently, but it doesn't mean I don't care what people think of me here. I get an E-Mail saying I've received negative feedback, so of course I'm here now to check it out.

With that aside, please explain in detail what the problem was. Did the package somehow open during transit? What did I package it in? Most of the time I put the cards in a penny sleeve, toploader, and teambag, and then send them in a bubble mailer. The sleeve and toploader are to prevent it from getting banged up; the team bag is to prevent the card from exiting the toploader, and the bubble mailer is to prevent any further beatings it might come across in transit, and to show the handlers that it's something that deserves being in a bubble mailer.

Other times, like in bulk mailings, I'll put commons and inserts into those long card boxes, and tape 'em up. Anything like autographs, game used, or high-end rc's I always put them in their individual sleeves and toploaders. I usually can fit anywhere from 3 to 4 cards, packaged in that way, in one team bag; depending on the thickness of the cards. Did I send in two or maybe three separate bubble mailers? Sometimes I do that with large orders when I don't have a small box to put all the bubble mailers in. In those cases, I only charge for shipping as if I sent it all in one package, because its not the buyers' fault that I don't have time to shop for boxes frequently.

Again, please explain in detail what the problem was. I assure you, that unless I had some sort of brain fart and taped the toploaders instead of putting 'em in teambags (I used to use tape when I didn't know of teambags; I now use teambags so the recipient doesn't have to buy a new toploader if they want a nice display for their card), it had to have been something that happened within transit. In those cases, I can't be held responsible unless it really was my fault.

yes it seems there's something in the system notifying everyone, when it was only intended to go to admin. oh well, i guess this had to happen to someone.

in reference to the message stating that a neg may have been too much, i'm inclined to agree, however there were signs of damage on all 3 cards.

i expect/dont mind some damage on relics and autos due to the extra handling they receive in the production process. that happens and i think we all know it.

however there was also some notable corner damage to the more valuable of the 2 inserts i received (this card being the keith van horn 97/98 CC Draft Trade [BV25]). its nigh on impossible to guage whether the damage was inflicted in the packing process provided by admiral though.

regardless, the damage itself here isnt the issue. sure i'd like nice minty cards but that's not always possible. the real issue here is the lack of care taken in the packing process that most of us see as customary. ensuring education is the key

Everyone surely has seen the posts about whats expected in packing cards for trades and deals. Just because someone has sent cards doing the wrong thing and by chance they don't get damaged thats still unacceptable. In this case Richo they were damaged.

This isn't eBay so we don't have to put up with it. Once eveyone does the right thing this is a problem of the past. Hence the pushing it now.

I will check out the settings and the program as to why EVERYONE got the email. Apologise if it upset anyone, but this is the first time we have had neg so first chance to see the system in full action

Another thingwe will make su that any retaliation negatives are removed - dont want this to end up like ebay where you dont leave true feedback in fear of a neg in return. as well, we wont put up with bullshit negs either.

Yep Admiral, i hope you will learn from your actions, please read the Packaging guidlines and stuff if your unsure of how to send cards. Chad, and i think Mavsman made one for all the new fella's so please read them, or else continue to suffer bad comments and risk your own repuatation being slaughtered.

id say ash just ran out of supplies, because he and i did a trade about a week ago and not a problem, the cards were packaged excellently in mint condition.

1stly... for Prototype to reply that this deal is complete on his end without notification of dissatisfaction is ****ing pathetic.... if ur upset, say so....

2ndly.... your negative feedback does not show if the cards were actually damaged or not, thus leads me to believe the actual negative feedback is inappropriate.... if something's ****ed up, then SAY SO... all you said was that he used a ****ed toploader (but had repaired it with some sticky), and put 2 cards in a penny sleeve (no damage mentioned).

C'mon show a bit more initiative with shit like this guys.....

mavs, i hate to say something negative about another board member, but you're really going quite over the top concerning this. as was mentioned earlier in this thread, this is the first neg feedback given under the new system.

i wasnt happy i had to give it, and im certainly not happy to be a central figure to this entire situation. calling my actions pathetic is in itself definitely uncalled for. i'm sorry i didn't meet your personal expectations.

i said merely that the deal was completed because i didnt envision this thread turning into the place for this conversation, and i still think it should be in heated discussions instead. i felt the neg itself addressed the key issues, which believe it or not isnt the damage imposed on the cards. if the cards had come to me in an entirely unacceptable condition i'd have not sent my cards to admiral, and i'd have returned his to him.

while the condition of the cards isnt perfect, its no worse than others i'd received before, and its not identifiably the fault of the packing methods (that would be nigh on impossible to determine). i re-iterate the issue here is the packing method itself. i felt a neg was an appropriate course of action to ensure our new member (admiral) got the message.

i honestly wish it hadnt become such a big deal, however, if it aids the protection of cards in future deals, and the education of new members then i guess this group discussion is a positive thing.
