While many of you may feel this belongs in the newish gambling thread this is for far more than money... its for state pride!
After watching the NRL grand final last year, Brisbane vs Melbourne, and seeing my Storm lose and the crap i got of my girlfriends old man, John and her older brother, Michael, whom are both proud Queenslanders and Bronco's supporters, all three of us made a deal the next time a major sporting game or series, such as a grand final, was played we would have a bet.
Today Victoria and Queensland are battling on the MCG for the Ford Ranger Cup, and soon the NBL Finals start, with Queensland's Finest, the Brisbane Bullets versus the defending champions and Victoria's Own, the Melbourne Tigers.
So last night, John and Michael bet me that QLD will beat VIC in the cricket, and if they do I have to drink XXXX for a year, and if VIC beats QLD, they have to drink VB for a year, while in the Basketball, if Melbourne loses, im buying the beer, either XXXX or VB, for a year for the both of them, and if Brisbane loses, I get free beer, XXXX or VB for the next 2 years.
Im hoping for a Whitewash in the bets, cos im not going to be drinking XXXX
