I'm not to woried about the young batsmen that will need to be "blooded"...we have an unlimited supply in that department. Its our bowling stocks I'm worried about...
Spinners - McGill (to old), Hogg (to old - but still a little champion!), the likely choice is Cullen but I really don't rate him, he has only played one test with one wicket...plus his domestic form isn't anything crash hot atm.
Pace - a little better, but you would never fear against a side that contains Clark, Bracken, Tait, Johnson...none of them are really world beaters. But maybe we have just been extremely spoilt with McGrath & Warne...
So everyones opinions of the two to replace McGrath & Warne?
Johnson & Cullen IMHO. But i'm not confident with it
No more tests for 10 months after the Ashes so it's going to be whoever perfoms well in this years domestic and i guess whoever goes to the World Cup...
Why does everyone forget BEN HILFENHAUS???? There are TWO TASMANIANS on the selection panel now which means Ben will actually get a look in like he deserves... he bowls at good pace and an awesome swing bowler.... every state can attest to that he is the leading wicket taker in the pura cup I do believe! (don't quot eme on it may have misread the paper)
I agree he's probably one for the future but I doubt next year. He doesn't have an ACB contract yet (not that it matters much). At least he is young and can swing it. Thats exactly what we need...
