I just had a thought, have you got the 94-95 Hoops Magic's All Rookies Foiltech PSA'd?? If so, what'd u get???

Yep submitted two of them, and got 2 x 9's. (theres a total of 10 x 9's and 3 x 8's graded - no 10's)

I need a regular Magic All Rookie Team in PSA 9 still though ...

I'm pretty darn happy with these results - and the other guys should be happy too I think (?). Gemini got 2 cards graded here which got PSA 9 and i'm missing from my first year set, so i'm going to have to offer him big $$ for them ;)

REALLY happy to get the Russell the 10 it deserved but they are all over the shop on the Bird RC year. No way I thought they were three grades apart?? A psa 9 for those is a great grade though and its still a psa 9 Bird RC year.

Disapointed with the Hondo too but Isiah is overgraded LOL

Win some lose some. No psa 1's this time :-P

Huge props to Hill33 the psa king. We should all kiss his arse a little bit more than we do :-D

Im very happy with the results on my ones :-) Now I have the complete set of the LJMJ dual cards. 6 x PSA9's & 4 x PSA10's.

As expected, the Hill Hoops RC Redemption and the UD RC Gold will be at least PSA 9 so I guess I wont be getting them at all :-)

Whats the population report of that UD Gold RC? I know that there aren't many good ones of this card as a lot of them have a small cut at the bottom right hand corner.

Cant wait to get them :-)

Yeah, I think i've got a fair idea of what they are looking for in PSA 9 and PSA 10 cards now.

The 2 that I had come back 8's, the Flair Showcase had one slightly damaged corner, and the Atomic Refractor 8 had a slight edge problem. I thought they might have been border 9's, but not to be.

I've also had a small submission come back with shit grades, as I didn't really check the cards and just threw them in hoping for the best. I got 1x10, 1x9, 6x8 & 1x7. I've learnt from that experience that close enough isn't good enough - you MUST check the cards thoroughly before you send them.

There are a few main areas of the card to check first - corners and edges. For a PSA 9, these have to be almost perfect, with no chipping on the edges and the corners have to be 4 sharp corners with no dings. For a dark card, this means no white corner dings showing. If you can hold the card at arms length and see chipping or white corners, forget about it!

You then move onto centering if the card has a border. PSA have published standards on this, but without getting out a ruler, I look at the card and if it looks pretty well centred then I figure it's got a chance of PSA 9. If it's pretty obvious from just looking at it, the card is off centre, then you probably won't get over an 8. I've had few cards that have had great corners and edges, but centering has killed them.

The last thing is surface. This includes scratches, dents, residue etc on the surface of the cards. Sometimes, a soft lens cloth is your friend. :)
