2025 NBA All Star Game

It is the biggest waste of time in sports and I don't think it is debatable!

What is the point in "playing" East vs West? Nobody has played basketball in an all star game in approximately 30 years.

If two teams of all stars actually played properly I would really enjoy it. But they don't and won't and there are fair reasons for that, so I am out.

I would love to know if there’s more team changing now than 1995 or if it just seems like it.

Not having as many years on a team leads to less allegiance to the conference and less feeling of wanting to win in the all star game? Maybe.

Sad state of affairs really

I love the all-snub team - though as soon as you are named to it are you not a snub anymore? :ermm:

Therefore the real all-snub team is the guys not named to the all-snu team!

As to why the game sucks more now. I feel it is social media fueled. If you try hard and get embarrassed it goes "viral". You accept that in a "real" game where the result means something. However, if the game is meaningless why try and risk ending up "on a poster" as an old person like myself would say. (Though now I guess it is on Tiktok or Instagram or as a meme or gif or something.)

I think it was Bogut on his pod today said - the last star to have a terrible showing at the all star game was Iverson in the 3 point comp - had like 10. But the thing was he shrugged it off, laughed and said well shit, maybe shoulda practiced more lol

That’s the attitude that’s needed - not the social media worry
