what are your collecting goals for 2025?

For me almost the same as my goals for ever other year!!!!
Probably not the time for me to think about it as yet again bit disillusioned with the whole hobby (Yes @kiwi_in_melb it's a perpetual state)

1. Get more Jordan autos
2. Clear out the $0-$5 piles and piles of cards I have lying around
3. Get a Wemby auto for the #1 Draft Pick PC
4. Try and track down the missing autos for the the nba@75 list - Still need Giannis (Have a dual auto but would like to replace with a nice individual), Tim Duncan (have 1 in the #1 draft pick PC), Harden, Kawhi, Westbrook (Have a triple auto but would like to replace with a nice individual)
5. Try and take a quality over quantity approach
6. Stop going in razzes

Cutting back on nba boxes - no new season stuff from here in out. Concentrate more on completing old sets and my PC's.

Get my stashed cards back from the USA...

- Get collection down to 50 cards total
- Grade the 20-odd cards I've been planning to for a couple of years already
- Finish my 2020 Full Capacity set

I'd be wanting to save up to get my 10+ Josh Giddey rookie cards graded. Hopefully get the ones I don't have from his 2021-22 Rookie season. Tried to sell some of my graded cards but no one was there for NRL cards. Wanting to sell of my NBA cards too.

Haven't been in a break since August. Bought 1 box of Baseball since August. Sold a few cards. Bought a few cards. Have $5k saved for my new car.

My goals are right on track!

- Sold 8 cards

Collection down to 63 total now. Gonna send a dozen or so off to COMC soon to hopefully move them as well

I put the RV card up to $10 again. I felt bad. Sold my last one on comc for $3. Took a loss on the last few. I still hope you can recoup but it looks grim.

Well done not going into breaks. I have not bought any wax or gone into breaks since December. I did go into one break last week which I'm not counting. I got the obligatory 50 cent card for my $20 "investment". Cured.

As for wax I know I'm clean. If I ever think of spending $400 on a shitty box of Bowman - once my favourite product - I will whip down the tab and put it on a $5 shot.

MLB wax and NHL wax is absolutely dead to me. It's all putrid trash.

I recently had a look at some new product and could not believe my eyes. Everything is heading to NBA territory.

It has really helped me curb the spending. I do get tempted to buy some nice singles, but I might give it a couple of years of savings before I start buying singles again.

AFL though, I am going to probably open every box from this year. Satisfy some breaking craving

Yep. The local sports still have some semblance of value, thankfully.

When you have a Bowman Draft Jumbo at $1500 and the likelihood that the best auto is no more than $50 it's over. You're almost guaranteed to lose $1000-$1200. What kind of degenerate person does that. Even in a break no one can win if the best card is $50. The best anyone can do is break even. That's f.....d

Hockey is even worse. In 2020 it was without doubt the best value rip when NBA and NFL went 5X overnight. Now it's so bad I can't even watch product being opened. A $200 box of cards may yield 20 filler inserts worth $10 in a bulk lot. The ROI of hockey is now the worst of any sports. It's pretty much 5% Yuk.
