2017 Auckland Nines Official Thread

Raiders starting team v Cows has a total of 2 games NRL experience.

After Austin's 35 second cameo in game 1 I can't imagine Sezer will play much more off the bench.

Fair to say RS doesn't take this comp seriously at all!

From a Raiders perspective is it good he doesnt take it too serious and not risking the injuries or you prefer him to go all out, work on combinations etc etc?

can understand that, got a good shot at it this year

Look at the Bulldogs, named Reynolds captain of the 9s side and he didnt even play today, token effort?

Absolutely. Sine teams are giving it a real shake and they are the teams with the strongest squads.

Cows, Brisbane, Titans and Eels have all fielded very strong teams in both games. To win the comp would certainly be a big confidence boost.

one of those 4 will win it for sure, no one else looked likely today. They range from $2.75 to $6 in the market, next closest is $21 being the Sea Eagles which have surprised me, Panthers would be my super roughie

One more tonight after I get back from having a pizza for dinner and the rest tomorrow when I'm celebrating the eels winning the 9s

hopefully works out to be an Eels, Cowboys final. Be a cracker

If u take one more drink out of that you shouldnt have any left :p

Enjoy mate
Yeah they get longer and longer

Having a ball over here, the warriors fans disappeared after the smashing the eels gave them.

Will be interesting to see what the crowds like tomorrow

Welcome to my world. The Dogs haven't fielded a decent team outside of Premiership games in 40 years. I remember the days when Mal Creevey played in the midweek cup games to keep Turvey in cotton wool. Some clubs just don't want to risk injuries while others are happy to ride the momentum of success in this type of format. The cash is a nice bonus too. ;)
Still good to spend a weekend in front of the box watching footy.

Go the eels :)

Defence is the key even in this format

Warriors very disappointing

Eels look great. Should be a great day for you tomorrow.

I find the Aussie media's talking up of the Warriors perplexing. The must win game against the Eels didn't have a single player who is likely to line up for round 1 except Lolohea/Ayshford who are probably fighting for the one centre spot. Maybe Sipley now that Matulino is injured. A bit like the media fixation of our 'monster' forward back, which hasn't been the case for many years now unless they are counting our wings.

Hey Daniel,

I'm curious about Ata Hingano do you think he will start the season at 5/8 until Foran is NRL cleared and registered as is being rumoured. I would have thought Lolohea would get a shot?

Cheers
Ross
