Agree. The whole set up another stupid idea. Forcing three collection groups into one. I'm not fussed on the coin, or the stamped card. Chasing the cards. Got three sets. Thought it might be nice to have. Won't be chasing different coins though. Unfortunately, I'll be chasing the thurston sig..... Again... Starting to feel like never ending slater sigs...... Even though thurston has more!!!.....
The sets in general are never ending. I know a lot of master set collectors have had to give up due to the price, but is anyone else just fatigued by the sheer amount of cards being released?

Traders, Powerplay, Elite, SoO, Premiers (multiple sets). Add to that, they keep increasing the numbers of cards in a full set and chase sets get out of reach. Now they're adding sig cards to 25 card box sets.
Then there's mirco men, tazos (or the equivalent) off and on and now the mint. It shits me too when they devalue the product. EG Coles micro men were $2 and when clearing a week ago you could buy them for 20 CENTS A PACKET! The exclusive ESP Souths Premiers set from the club was $80 and now it is $40. Why should I invest in something when I'm going to get so burnt on price point!?!
Packet prizes are increasing, there is less value in a binder as well and I'm tired of getting the same s#it in packets I do buy. So over parallels. Really, really, really over it.
And sure, I don't have to buy them. I know that. But I used to like making a full set or thereabouts. Now, I can't be bothered. I used to get excited, now I just shrug and sigh (and my wife hates it because there's too much coming out, she can't keep up and resents it where she used to like it because I didn't drink, smoke or punt but bought footy cards).
Personally, I am over it. Really quite tired. I'm just lucky the dealer I deal with is very understanding and helpful and goes to great pains and lengths to put together my wants and needs. I'm also lucky to have traders on here to catch up with. But I've barely looked at my cards this year and the joy of the hobby is ebbing away.
Also when you look at it, in the past, we used to get a sell sheet, I'd know what was coming, I'd have the money ready and go. I don't even know who will be in a common set now until day of release almost.
I'd love to retread the same old ground of what would be good in a set, but I think I just don't care. I'm to the point I wish my club just did a promo card set with the membership and I'd get that and nothing else.
I (for a reason I can't remember!) get a monthly brochure from the Royal Australian Mint and in my copy that arrived today it had exactly the same information listed previously in this thread (and the AFL one) as well as on their website. They are being very cagey re: naming the players on the signature cards although others in both threads have named who they believe the players to be.
