2015 Select Captains Signatures

I am sure that you are all aware by now that Select have decided to release a limited set of Captain Signature cards in conjunction with the Apple App. Basically you have to collect all 20 of the digital Captain Signature cards to be able to redeem a set (150 only) or be one of the lucky ones to pull a digital redemption card (50 only). The sets are individually numbered from 1-200 and each digital card is suggested to be in the ration of 1:36 much like the superhero box cards.

I recently received my set in the mail; awesome job from Select to think outside the box here. Managed to get set 14/200

I got mine the other day I think it is in the twenties. I bought the coins so I could buy the other 15 captains lol. Fantastic looking set.

for us android users who couldnt get the app... what was it exactly? like what did you do? was it a game? or did you buy things on it etc?

the app lets you:

a. scan physical Select Champions cards into the app
b. buy digital cards (eg Captain signatures, parallels, "great plays", "fresh faces" and commons) - to do this you are allocated 75 coins per day or you can alternatively buy coin packs through iTunes. Each digital pack is worth 150 coins and it is from here where you can get the aforementioned cards (6 cards per pack). Duplicates can either be exchanged for coins or placed on the in-app market for sale.
c. play Fantasy football (using your digital and scanned cards)
d. buy and sell the digital cards you need in the in-app marketplace. Some have chosen to use this method to complete their Captain Signature set (20 cards in total).

The digital Captain Signature cards look like this in the app:

except that the signature appears in a "hand writing" format when you look at the card (eg as if it's being signed while you look at it).

Select have given collectors with all 20 cards the chance to "redeem" the for a physical numbered gold foil set and there are also digital redemption cards within app packs to do the same.

So if you logged on once a day and saved the coins, bought and sold doubles etc, this set could have been completed for nothing?

It would take a looooooong time to do that, but in essence yes you could. For example, it is not unusual to see the Captain Signatures sell for 3000+ coins. Very early I happened to get a Gary Ablett one and sold it so that I could get a lot of coins to spend. From personal experience you can have runs of two signatures in five or six packs, or alternatively you could go a week or more without getting one.

Yep I completed the capt set without paying for any coins. In saying that I've absolutely hammered the app since about Feb so the bonus of the cards was great. I'm coming 2nd overall in the fantasy game so I've loved it!

I pulled a gold redemption card from 1 of the digital packs and also completed the captains set so will have 2 sets coming my way.
