One thing that I reckon would have been cool (and to give even more hits in the product) was to have the Mojo Parallels but insert them one card at a time.

Could you imagine how much trading and buying would be going on with people chasing down all your teams players?

Based on rough odds they would have fallen about 1 per box......10 per case....would be a difficult but interesting challenge.

I just wish they had made sure the Penrith Mojo cards were all cut correctly.... most of the Panthers cards are horribly off centre.

The problem with that would be that it would just be another parallel set, more so than it already is. In fact it reminds me very much of the benchwarmer cards, so many parallels and such a lack of value in the long run.

At least with the way they have done it, most of the team sets will stay together, there will obviously be a few that are broken up, but most will stay together.

I just had a thought - that the mojo set would have been better off being a 1/box item of the gold parallel. So there are still 2 parallel sets, silver and gold, but the gold is inserted as a mojo pack 1/box and still in the team set way. Replace the red ratio mojo pack with a high end dual signature - the All Star games cards being a signature set would have been nice. 18 Card dual signature set using either of 2 options, first being the #1's both sign a Fullback card, #2s each sign a Wingers card etc.. or combine similar positions on the same team, i.e. 2&5 sign an Wingers card (1 for each team), 3&4 sign a Centres card etc...

I would of liked to of seen the Mojo set divided up into the case, 1 card per box. Still would be 1 set per case & would stop the searching & dumping of searched boxes. As mentioned by Matt26 the cases that were broken up & boxes sold separately would generate a lot of trades & sales. It would add value to a box as a major hit & even out the value of boxes with less dud boxes.

I totally agree with making every box worth it with a mojo in each one. On the flip side elite is for the collectors and buy keeping them together it has satisfied the collectors being able to have there set or purchase the complete set together.

I thought the same thing about the mojos.... Great concept.... But after getting my sets "damaged" by the verification logo.... Thought, maybe not such a good idea? Or maybe in need of the clear covering like the dynasty 2012. Then I thought, maybe one card per box would be a better idea. Less chance of damage, and surely a boost to trading.

I haven't managed to trade a single thing in this set? What the hell?! Somehow this set has nearly completely eliminated trading. My assumption is the cost?

Leading up to this release I had alot of thoughts as to the direction of my collection.... Since it's release.... My mind has definitely been made up. As much as I'd like to continue to complete some sub sets..... Keeping up with the team PC and the subsets I like.... Really aren't a viable option..... Based solely on costs.

Out of three boxes I got 1 tigers pennant. That was it! No gold nothing. How you supposed to trade just one cheap card?

The most disappointing thing for me was the League sensation loss. After collecting the first two sets, I planned on continuing to buy LS cards every year.... After I found out it was gone from this set....I dissolved my previous sets. I still hate the idea of a yg being more than a tp or a ff. Throw in an extra 200 cards for them to sign. No one wants to pay $100 for someone who'll probably be a no body.

*loved the unsigned young guns
*loved the jersey cards
*loved the mojo sets
*loved the player range on inserts

*did not love the cost
*did not love the dud boxes
*did not love the overstacked insert sets
*did not love the neverending parallel sets
*did not love the removal of LS.

And lastly. I want a cooper cronk signature card! No more thurstons, no more smiths, and please, no more slaters!!

I don't really know how to feel about this release.....some good some bad.

In regards to box / packet price it's hard for me to comment as apart from having a play in the team breaks which are a great idea (apart from the obvious over value in getting the 4 jersey card teams) I didn't open a single pack. I suppose however the price increase has a flow on to my purchase costs in the end.

I think I would have loved to add jersey cards to the PC but in a bizarre twist am glad St George didn't have a them because as a team collector this release (without these two jersey cards) has cost me $900 - $1000 although not all in $$'s as I traded older cards for some etc. With jersey cards I suppose that would have added about another $500.

Now if the cards maintain their value or a large part of it then I have no issue, it's not really an investment it is a hobby, but it is a lot of money every year and an understandable reason some people are questioning their hobby. The unanswered question; will they hold value? I think as a St George collector I am probably in a better position than some in this regard.

The cards themselves...... I'm probably in the minority but liked the majority of the release. The commons are OK and look good signed I just wish they wouldn't select nuffies like Rory O'Brien (I may never get this signed) and i also have some OCD issues with 10 cards including the logo. The Pennants and Club Champions are neither here nor there but I have always liked the Club Player of the Year so like that concept. The Quads were a good idea, not the same stars as always interestingly I much preferred the forwards design to the backs design due to more white than red on the forwards. The All Stars I could take or leave to be honest but my #8 George Rose looks good in the PC also like the non rendered card for a change.

The unsigned Young Guns I liked a lot they feel good in hand and a good choice of players for St George anyway. Aitken's first ever card and he was pretty stoked.

The signed Young Gun I like also, don't mind the blue pen at all but as mentioned earlier would prefer the faded signature area rather than the white box look, but still a very nice card.

For the price the mojo's are a bit under whelming and after reading the earlier posts believe the idea of splitting them into packets 1 a box would have been a winner to generate that secondary market for trading etc as it is this market that fuels the growth of the hobby IMO.

Like the numbered and hologramed inserts this is a positive step for middle to higher end inserts.

To answer the Poll question I answered NO because when I thought about it I came up with the simple fact I wont tell my wife this release cost me $1000 so obviously this means I have spent more than I should.

I'm with you on most, if not all, if that. Thank the lord there wasn't a Knights jersey card ... especially as going by the players featured it would have been a numpty like Chris Houston.

I know this seems to have been a popular opinion but I really would have hated this, it would have meant so many more sets got broken up, and people ending up with various numbers, I guess it would mean a full set of the same numbers would be worth more, but I feel this would have again heavily favored case buyers instead of box/pack buyers and with most of the team buyers here I suspect that they would have likely more interested in a same numbered set and feel this would have ended up costing team collectors more.

I guess one way to get around that would be to provide a player redemption card, that once you collect all 9 players, you send in the set to get the same numbered redeemed set - however I prefer to get items in the packs and not have to send for redemption.

I still think having the gold parallels as a 1 per box or even 1 per 2 box team mojo pack would have been perfect for this, numbered to 400 (1 box) or 200 (2 boxes) limited set, with the current red mojo pack replaced with a high end signature or something. if you wanted to keep the set really limited, you could have extended it to 18 cards separated into 2 packs. The idea of a mojo pack, where every card in the pack is an insert is a great idea and is really nice opening one - I would hate to lose that in future releases.

I would like to see a redemption in the future that could redeem a whole insert set from that release. Imagine one redemption for a complete master set?

Alternately with the amount of stock left from 12LE and the Traders releases you could throw in a prize card for a sealed box

I Like the idea of the Dual Sigs I would like to see them do something like that have all the players in the all stars sign or even Origin.. an origin Dual signature series or continue the brothers in arms concept have the morris fifita stewarts etc all sign, or a then and now series , a legend and a current star or a father/son Sattlers endless possibilities.

I wonder how long before they introduce signature parallels :p

Got most of my Knighta cards last night, and I have to say this is the most boring design for a set of cards that I've seen in my entire life.

Does nobody agree? I like the variety in Traders, but these are all grey and navy blue, the club champions look almost exactly like base cards, most of the pennants are taken up with text, the quads look like they were designed in ms paint.

Eep, shocking stuff, especially for a supposed premium set.

To be fair I use MS paint a lot and even I can't design something like the Quads what with the gradient and whatever in it

I have looked in various newsagents in my area (Parramatta,Blacktown etc),but I still haven't been able to find anyone that sells the new Elite cards.
Does anyone know of anywhere in that area where I could buy some packs from?
