They could release a set with 5 sets of different foils n I'll be happy but I think the problem is they're using the same picture for all of them. Using the same pic makes it like the base set but with a shiny background and will be low in value, using a different pic will make it more unique I think
One way to think differently about this is how you display the cards in the folder. You could display the base card in the left column then the silver foil in the middle with the gold on the right that way the same picture works for the collector instead of against.
I am serious. There's heaps of different things they could do for parallels. I personally would love an acetate parallel set. Kids love the gimmicks, so glow in the dark footy cards - probably a power play thing - would be cool.
I also would like to see a scan / bar code / chip thing, where it records some player footage and you can watch online, or on your phone app. I remember in the 1980's, there was this baseball card set with a chip or barcode, and the manufacturer sold a baseball stadium shaped game set and you slid the card in to a reader and it read the players stats, and you could interact with the cards you had. It was really basic, I mean, it was in the dinosaur era of the 80's before a lot of OCT's were even born, but it was fun. With today's whizz bangs, surely they can come up with something like that for the I-phone/I-pad.

There are issues with Telstra as part of the digital content deal/ownership with the NRL. One idea was to have QR codes on cards that allowed you to view highlights but there are issues with content ownership which couldn't be overcome.

Down the track maybe they can all come together. Just throwing it out there.
Off topic, has anyone ever peeled the hologram sticker off their signed card? They put them on all the NRL merch now, and I had a go. It comes off quite easily but it leaves VOID on the item and on the peeled sticker. Really cool, so it can't be copied or tampered with. 2 stickers in 1.
With the 2014 info out and about now we are now aware that the wholesale price has increased with no change to the retail box price as evident from the picture Matt26 has posted. I wonder if we are looking down the barrel of a pack price increase next year to $6.50 or $7.00 a pack?
correct. but i still buy a box or two, but my days of cases are done i think. in saying that im sure 90% of the adults on here are happy to see no kid rubbish in this set, they have powerplay to collect, and traders as a kind of bridging set between the two to generate their interest in the hobby, as for ELITE though, i keep it well clear of any childish stuff
