Well that sucks. This would not have happened with Select! Thanks for your info
You know what else wouldn't have happened with Select?
Cards being released this year!
Over the whinging in this thread. It needs a new title: Have a whinge about ESP.
Lets see what they've done wrong with this release:
What have they done right?
- Not released the checklist until release day. Was this really as bad as it was made out on this forum? It built excitement, it built anticipation and beat the hell out of 'sneak peeks'!
- Shifted the release date due to logistical issues. Full transparency and communicated to the end users. Not much more you can ask for.
- This one is yet to be confirmed but it appears the odd box may not stack up, ratio wise. Frustrating I agree but spare a thought for the Dynasty case buyers who missed a redemption. Fact is; these things happen.
- Error on the Tim mannah card. Too early to criticise this as they may yet replace it
- Insert here whatever else i have forgotten
For me the good far outweighs the bad and the fact that each release has been better than the last is fantastic.
- Produced a quality release with signature cards of genuine NRL stars. Argue with some of the selections but they are all high quality players (small concession for poor old Princey
) - Hit on a ratio which excludes one and two per case hits, making case searching nigh on impossible (in my opinion but I'm sure I'll be shouted down)
- Generated genuine excitement over a release. We can't underestimate this. We are all talking about it and the forum has exploded with the box breaks beginning.
- Listened to consumers. Mistakes they made in traders, they corrected with Elite. They are getting better with each release and that is a good thing. The decision on when to release the checklist is theirs and theirs alone. They have given a sound justification. Move on.
- Produced a release without Team of the Year, Club Player of the Year, etc. It's innovation, whether you love the selections or not.
- Communicated more with us collectors than Select did. Presence at card fairs, relationships with Matt26 allowing him to update us here, etc.
Lets get back to discussing cards.
Rant over. Off to patiently await my delivery from Digeze
No doubt he was a great player for the knights... Just a bit past his time now imo... Better than prince though!!! Lol.. would have loved to see a hodges or a hannant!!I'm pretty happy with the choice of Buderus. I can't remember another sig he has done since 2005 (maybe a tazo) which beats the hell out of another Gidley and each of the others you list has a sig already too. Plus I wish they would do a lot more sigs of heroes of yesteryear - Buderus has been a great player for Newcastle.
I'm more disappointed about having yet another Mitchell Pearce

All valid points, but I beg to differ the one about communicating more with collectors. I am a collector yet know very little about this release. As a collector, I like to find out info on ones website. I can't find anything anywhere on ESP's website about the release of these cards. Just disappointing that's all all this waiting.
Exactly.. he's played 5 games for the knights since 08 I'd rather Mullen,Boyd, uate myself and definitly think the chief is the second best knight ever.. Then Sargent! But all good as long as your happy mate.

It's all there. The difference between their website and Select's is that Select's was a trading cards dedicated website. Trading cards is just one arm of ESP so it won't stand out as much on the website
Here is a link from the esp website of their newsagency's that stock the cards (hopefully I am reading it right):
