2012 NRL Select Cards - Sneak Peak

The cards look really good, just saw the pull-out card list in RLW.cant understand why lockyer and hindmarsh aren't in the 300 club cards collection for the 2012 select series.

...and the legs are gardners lol

So reading between the lines it came down to money. Either Locky asked for too much or Select did not offer enough.

Has anyone noticed that Ryles and Anasta are on the showtime card. No shock but this was posted on Selects FB

"Re the Jason Ryles etc, these cards went to print before any player changes were made."

What a load of BS - Ryles signed for the Storm back on the 29th of October.

According to Dr Grange they select who goes on the cards around the Dally M awards, if that's correct then they wouldn't have had time to change it from Ryles to someone else.

So they should just say that rather than lie and say its because they are being printed already.

I'd say "went to print" more means the printing stage, rather than the design of the set ... so things like selecting photos, producing the card templates etc. But the NRL are equally to blame on this one according to your info, if it was within their timeframes to change it, because they approved the card.

They had time to change a Tahu sketch card to a Webb one last year. Wangy listed a pic with his champions lot last year but changed it when I tried to buy it. Tahu left Parra on the 7th of December. He said it was a pre release sample they had sent him when I questioned about it

Hmm - has anyone seen the latest post on the Select Facebook page. Has a picture of their "designers" working on the 2012 Champions with a link to spike creative (www.spikecreative.com.au).

Does this mean that Select dont produce their own cards in house??

Looks like you are right

So Select basically do nothing but the redemption and maintain the contract with the AFL and NRL.

Artwork - Melbourne, send them China to be printed and packed and then send them direct to Melbourne to Wang.

No wonder we get tossed up so much crud at times. They just outsource absolutely everything and just collect a payday from Wang.

What a joke.
